[Self-Introduction] A mom nearing 60, I've started a relaxed side hustle and health challenge
Nice to meet you!
I'm sunao, and as I approach 60, I've loosely awakened to the world of side hustles and healthy habits.
In this note, I plan to record my real, everyday life, including my "side hustle challenge from my 50s" and "dietary cures learned from Eastern medicine."
It might be a bit long, but first, as part of my self-introduction, I'll write about why I decided to start this note.
The trigger for my side hustle was the "reality of money"
It started when my child entered a private university.
I thought we had been doing reasonably well as a dual-income household, but with tuition, living allowances, and travel expenses... the money going out just kept increasing, and I started thinking, "Huh? We're scraping by again this month," or "This might be bad if things continue this way."
If I were in my 20s or 30s, it would be one thing, but financial anxiety in your 50s slowly takes its toll.
That said, I don't have the courage to suddenly change jobs, nor do I have the physical stamina to take on more part-time work.
However, while searching online for "is there anything I can do?", the option of a "side hustle" caught my eye.
Honestly, I was full of anxiety at first.
But I decided to start little by little with things I could do from home, such as "Rakuten Affiliate" and "posting on note."
In this note, I plan to write from a down-to-earth perspective about:
・What it was actually like to start a side hustle
・Things that didn't go well and things that were surprisingly good
・Tools and services I found useful
and so on.
I might not have any flashy success reports, but I would be happy if you could think, "Even someone like this is giving it a try."
I also wanted to value my health more
Another theme is "health."
I feel keenly every day that I can't push myself like I did when I was young (laughs).
The day after I eat something a bit greasy, my stomach feels heavy.
When I wake up in the morning, my body feels stiff.
These things have become daily occurrences, and I've started to think, "It's a bit scary to keep getting older like this."
That was when I encountered the philosophy of Eastern medicine.
Instead of relying on medicine or supplements, I was very attracted to the simple yet profound idea of "adjusting the body through what you eat."
Now, I am conscious of "choosing things that are a bit kinder to my body" in my daily meals.
For example, starting the day by drinking hot water, or actively consuming seasonal ingredients.
I am by no means stoic; my motto is "relaxed and sustainable."
In this note, I hope to write about such tips for a diet-based lifestylelike a diary.
It's not too late to start. Because I want to believe that, I am starting to write.
The 50s might be a generation that tends to think, "It might be too late."
But I believe that now is the exact time to think about "how to live from here on out."
I want to move forward, even if just a little.
I want to organize my life.
I want to stay healthy, for my own sake and for my family's sake.
I would be happy if I could connect here with people who share those feelings.
I will continue to post at my own natural pace, so please feel free to come by and read at your leisure.
Looking forward to connecting with you!
