The Western-style building, the melody of Ritsu, and the tall trees @ Okurayama Memorial Hall
Good evening.
It has been a while since I last attended Haiku Kindergarten.
Today, I would like to introduce the Yokohama Okurayama Memorial Hall and a wonderful event being held there this month.
Asami Ishino's "Hitoiro Exhibition @ Yokohama" will be held from
Wednesday, September 27th to Sunday, October 1st.
The venue is the Okurayama Memorial Hall. It is one of my favorite places.
I will also be participating in the Hitoiro Exhibition by submitting a poem.
At the end of this article, I have posted links to the poster and the flower support (until September 17th). Please take a look at those as well.😊
Exactly one year ago (September 15th), I visited the Okurayama Memorial Hall. It was a cloudy day, and I feel like it was a bit cooler than it is now...

The haiku in the title was composed based on the memories of that time.
The Western-style building, the melody of Ritsu, and the tall trees
(Yokanj ni ritchi no shirabe ya kigi takashi)
The seasonal word is "Ritchi no shirabe" (melody of Ritsu), which belongs to late autumn.
[Sub-seasonal word]
Ritchi no kaze (Wind of Ritsu)
[Explanation]
Ritsu, along with Ryo, refers to the tuning of instruments like the koto. It describes an autumn-like atmosphere. "Ritchi no kaze" refers to a wind that feels like autumn.
Following a comment from Tsugumi-san, I thought of a revised version.
The trees of the Western-style building are deep blue, the wind of Ritsu
Abstract seasonal words are intriguing but difficult... I struggle with how to express the calm atmosphere of autumn.
The six-character seasonal word "Ritchi no shirabe" is not very easy to use (?), so I composed it using the sub-seasonal word "Ritchi no kaze".
Now, let's delve a little deeper into the Okurayama Memorial Hall.
It was originally built as the Okurayama Institute for Cultural Research, and it seems it was opened to the general public even in an era when books were expensive. There is still a library inside the memorial hall today, which anyone can use for free.
For more details, please check this article.
If you go down a little from the small hill where the memorial hall stands, there is a plum grove nearby, which is bustling even in winter.

The shopping street around the station has a unique sense of style.
There are also several delicious cake shops.
My favorite is MA FAVORITE.
Please do take a stroll around Okurayama.
The Yokohama & Okurayama introduced by Sachito Peace-san is also a must-see.😊
Notice
At the Hitoiro Exhibition, you can provide lovely support called Flower Support.
You can find the support details in Sachito Peace-san's article.
