My impressions after visiting a newly opened veterinary clinic

Today, I went to a veterinary clinic that recently opened in my neighborhood.

Good evening, this is Mame🫘.

The purpose of the visit was for my two dogs' health checkups and to get their heartworm medication.
And... also a bit of reconnaissance.

Since it was my first time at this clinic, I was a little nervous, but the doctor and the staff were very pleasant, and the interior was new and clean.
It was a clinic with a warm atmosphere that made me think,
“I might want to make this my regular clinic.”

Of course, I trust the regular vet I have been seeing, so rather than deciding immediately, I plan to think about it while observing things little by little from now on.

However, knowing that they also handle emergency night care made me feel very reassured to have another place I can rely on in case of an emergency.

And today, there was another happy event for me.

My second daughter, who is attending a veterinary nursing school,
said this to the doctor at the end of the examination.

“I am currently attending veterinary nursing school and am scheduled to graduate next year. I am looking for a job... if it is alright with you, would you mind letting me observe the clinic?”

Despite the sudden request, the doctor accepted very kindly,

“We are planning to create a recruitment page for next year on our website soon, so please take a look if you would like.”

he said to her.

Watching that interaction, my heart felt warm.

My second daughter has been saying she wanted to be a veterinary nurse since she was in elementary school.

Seeing her moving toward that dream, slowly but surely, made me truly happy as a parent.

Actually, it seems she was also considering finding a job at a clinic in Tokyo.

But she talked about her anxiety about living alone, the cost of living, and above all, how lonely she would be living apart from our two dogs.

That is why, finding a clinic locally
where she feels,
“I want to work here,”
feels very significant.

For now, it seems she will try to schedule a clinic visit in the near future.

I hope that step leads to a wonderful connection for my daughter.
