Times have changed, but dreams remain
As I was writing about various things, I realized I might be causing some misunderstandings, so—as a sort of excuse—I turned it into a song.It’s actually a pretty good song, don’t you think?

Long nights, bright lights, chasing every frame
Dreams burned hot inside a borrowed name
City skies promised more each year
Then the silence slowly drew us here
I told the young, "Don't fear the road,
There's a wider world beyond."
Times have changed, the stations fade,
Names we knew just slipped away.
One more dream walks out the door,
Searching for what's there no more.
Still I hope you'll find your way,
Far beyond yesterday.
You walked in with a quiet smile,
Hope was shining all the while.
Then you said, "I'm leaving soon."
Autumn came a little too soon.
Every call reached empty lines,
Every door was closed by time.
Companies became memories,
Carried off like fallen leaves.
Times have changed, but dreams remain,
Someone has to light the flame.
If the road has disappeared,
Build another from right here.
Though the world has turned away,
I'll believe in you today.
