Why not leave your eye-catching images to AI? How to create them entirely on your smartphone
Hello. My name is Maki, and I love writing while raising my two children, aged 3 and 6.
After writing a note, the part where I tend to get stuck is the eye-catching image.
The text is written. But there's no image. I don't know what to make or how to make it.
I have left many articles in draft form in this state.
At first, I just used free images, but then I had a thought.
I want my images to be more like me, too.
With that in mind, I tried using Canva to make templates and searched for illustration materials.
But it took too much time, and it started to become a bit of a struggle to keep up.
That's when I started using the combination of AI image generation tools (like ImageFX) and Canva.
Now, I can quickly create images using only my smartphone.
In this post, I will introduce the easy and fun way to create eye-catching images that I use. (By the way, this isn't for this note. I create my own eye-catching images for my other main note.)
Are eye-catching images really that important?
A note is first judged by its "title" and "eye-catching image".
Whether there is a visual that catches the eye while readers are scrolling on their smartphones.
Honestly, no matter how good the content is, it can be overlooked because of how it looks.
I also sometimes click on other people's articles because I'm drawn to the atmosphere.
In other words,
the image creates the mood for wanting to read.
That is why I believe an eye-catching image is not just an "extra," but an entrance.
The old me: Creating images was a hassle
After writing a note, I used to think about these things every time.
・What should I use for an eye-catching image?
・Should I add text? Or not?
・Free stock images just don't feel quite right.
・The colors of the illustration don't match the article.
Thirty minutes pass while searching around.
The result: "I'll just use a photo I already have for now."
You use up all your time and energy, and end up publishing something you're not quite satisfied with.
This became a bit of a stressor, and it made updating my note feel like a chore.
AI and Canva turned it into something 'fun to create'
That's when I started using this method: Create an image with ImageFX → Add text in Canva.
This workflow is incredibly smooth,
and it's much easier to create images that feel like 'me' than I ever expected.
For example, I use a prompt (a request written for the AI) like the one below.
A woman drinking coffee in a kitchen with morning light streaming in. Natural and calm atmosphere. Landscape composition suitable for a note eye-catching image
With just this one sentence, several images that perfectly match the vision appear.
Then, I just pick one and use Canva to:
・Add a title
・Adjust the margins
・Fine-tune the colors
That's all there is to it.
It takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
And the biggest change was that the act of creating the image itself became a 'fun little task'.
Simple steps you can do entirely on your smartphone
The method I use is one that can be completed entirely on a smartphone.
Generate images with ImageFX
Just access it from your browser and enter keywords.
You can save the generated images on the spot.Edit with the Canva app
Load the saved image and swap it into a template.
I make sure to keep the fonts and colors consistent every time.Paste the finished image into your note.
Upload it directly from the app. Done.
Once you get used to it, you'll be able to create a unique world for every single note, won't you?
The sense of unity between the title and the image becomes the charm of the article.
It's wonderful when the atmosphere is consistent, isn't it?
I think a note is like a work of art, including how it is presented, not just the text itself.
I create my notes with the desire to deliver them like small essay books, so I really want to cherish the eye-catching image that serves as the cover.
Conclusion
Why not end the time spent wandering around looking for images?
AI tools like ChatGPT and ImageFX can properly shape those vague wishes like, 'I'd like something like this.'
Moreover, they sometimes suggest worldviews that I wouldn't have thought of on my own.
When you can get excited about 'what kind of image should I use' every time you write a note,
the act of posting itself becomes even more fun.
