All that's in the pencil case is motivation

Check properly.

It's a phrase I hear often. Yesterday evening, when I opened the pencil case,

the inside was completely empty.It was impressively hollow. It's almost refreshing, actually. Yeah...

The person himself probably isn't panicking.

Maybe he thinks, 'When I wake up in the morning, the little elves will have restocked it for me♪'
or something like that.

I let out a deep sigh.
Are you checking properly??? (a bit annoyed)

While saying that, during the busy morning, I sharpen the spare pencils and run the 'Mackie' name pen over them.
(As I'm sure you've realized,the identity of the elf is me)

It hit me.
My 'properly' might not be reaching him at all—the representative of our family's uneven trio, whom I've namedthe 'Explosive Bumpy' lead—my eldest son!

His head is full of today's events.
How to spend recess, today's school lunch, plans after school...
There's no room left for 'managing supplies'.

Yes, it's all filled up now.

The pencil case I handed over is half-filled with my 'parental love' and half with 'resignation'. (The atmosphere of resignation tends to come out more)
