The sense of security in being accepted.
I truly believe that being able to feel a sense of security is very important.
I also think it is necessary to be able to create that sense of security for yourself,
and I think it is also good to be able to receive that sense of security from someone or somewhere else.
And I think that being "accepted" provides a great sense of security.
It is not necessarily about wanting a positive reaction, like being showered with affirmation or praise.
It is just about being heard or being seen; that is enough, and that is a good thing, isn't it?
I think the demand for things like coaching lies somewhere in that area.
It is the feeling that you can report something and know that it is being seen. You report because you know it will be seen, and you try to do things properly so that you have something to report—it is that kind of feeling.
I think it is similar to when a small child goes to show their parent something, saying, "Look at this!"
They don't show it to be praised (though they are happy if they are), and they don't want advice; they just want to be accepted with a, "I see, that's great."

When we talk about being accepted, seen, or heard, it might sound like a desire for approval, but I think it is different.
It is not about wanting to be praised, recognized, or evaluated.
It is more like just wanting someone to be there.
It is not about expecting them to do something, but rather the feeling that if there is a place to send your thoughts, you can send them.
Not knowing if your thoughts will be received, or not knowing if there is anyone to receive them, makes you feel anxious.
I think having a place to send your thoughts can make you feel much more at ease.
It is the sense of security that comes from knowing you can send them, and that it is okay to send them.

In that sense, I think the "Writing Life Project" is a program that receives the feelings, futures, pasts, and changes of those who participate.
I think there are many parts where you think and write under the premise that the facilitator will receive it.
It is not that you write just to be received, but there is a part of you that can write because you know you will be received.
If you try writing, or if you struggle and do your best, it will definitely be received.
With that sense of security, you can do your best and enjoy the process.

Being "accepted" also means relying on someone, so perhaps it would be better to be able to do it yourself without relying on "someone."
I think it would be easier if you could manage everything on your own.
But if you could do everything yourself and keep it all contained within yourself, then human connection would become unnecessary.
Since that is not the case, people interact with each other and help each other, and I think we are built to interact and help one another because we cannot live entirely alone in the first place.
So, isn't it okay to rely on others, to seek a place to send your thoughts, and to do your best in that way?
