People who think before they act end up putting off what is truly important
Every day,
I think about many things.
Work.
Family.
Schedules.
Appointments with others.
Things to do today.
Things to finish by tomorrow.
Before I know it,
the day is over.
People who think before they act
have a strong sense of responsibility.
That is why,
they handle the things right in front of them,
one by one, carefully.
But,
when you continue days like that,
little by little,
there are things that become invisible.
The things you truly wanted to cherish.
Because I'm busy.
Because it's not the right time.
I'll think about it when things settle down.
That's what I'd say,
as I tucked it away deep in my heart.
I used to think,
that the things I held dear,
could be protected if I just worked hard enough.
But,
that wasn't the case.
The more important something is,
the more you have to consciously choose it,
or it will get buried in the busyness of every day.
So lately,
I've been trying to,
ask myself one thing.
What is the one thing I want to cherish most today?
The answer,
can be different every day.
Sometimes it's work.
There are days for rest.
There are days for spending time with others.
There are days when you want to be alone.
What is important is,
not having the same answer every day.
It is to keep,
holding onto that question.
People who think before they act,
are people who can cherish others.
That is precisely why,
just for today,
I want you to listen,
a little bit to what you want to cherish yourself.
Life is,
not made of busyness,
but is made of what you cherish.
