[Scene 1: National Route 2, near Maiko / Roadside]
The smell of the tide.
The heat of the scorched asphalt.
The shadow of the overpass grazing overhead.
The low vibration of an idling motorcycle.
Looking ahead, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge.
H leans against the motorcycle.
A little later, M appears.
M: "Did you wait long?"
H: "No. I just got here."
H silently hands over a helmet.
(A short pause)
H: "...About 'Only you', you know."
M: "That's pretty sudden."
H: "I was just thinking, it would be easier if love was all there was."
M looks toward the sea.
M: "You say such difficult things."
[Scene 2: National Route 2, in transit (Maiko to Asagiri)]
Riding double.
The sound of cutting through the wind.
A truck passes by.
The engine noise steals the conversation.
The sea on the left.
The sparkle beyond the guardrail.
M holds on lightly from behind.
M: "Hey!"
H: "Hmm?"
M: "Can we go down to the beach for just 10 minutes?"
H nods slightly.
H (Monologue)

[Scene 3: Asagiri, beside the sidewalk -> Stairs down to the sandy beach]
Parking the motorcycle.
The engine stops, and it suddenly becomes quiet.
Only the sound of the waves remains.
Awaji Island in the distance.
A slightly hazy seascape.
M goes down first.
H: "You know, Maya."
M: "Yeah?"
H: "Even though you have the face of someone in a painful love."
M turns around.
H: "You smile so much."
M: "If I don't smile, I'll fall apart, right?"
(A short pause)
H: "...Aren't you cold?"
M: "Not at all."
(A short pause)
Fingers touch.
H (Monologue)
Before the waves wash away the heat of the day.
[Scene 4 Beach (Asagiri Coast)]
A line of cars running on the elevated road.
The constant sound of cars driving by.
M: "What if someone comes?"
H: "Just say we're lovers."
M smiles, but immediately looks toward the sea.
(The sound of a truck driving by echoes loudly)
H (quietly): "...I love you"
M: "Huh?"
H: "No, it's nothing."
H (monologue)

Even if I whisper it, you can't hear my I love you🎵
[Scene 5 National Route 2, Roadside (Approaching dusk)]
The setting sun.
The car tail lights begin to increase little by little.
M puts on a helmet.
M: "Lend me your glasses."
H: "It's dangerous."
M: "It's fine."
M looks at H through the lenses.
M: "...It's blurry."
H: "Well, yeah."
M smiles a little.
M: "But right now, this is fine."
(A short pause)
H: "...Staying friends is fine."
M: "Yeah."
H: "I don't need kisses or anything."
M: "Yeah."
H: "If you can smile for me, that's enough."
M nods quietly.
[Scene 6 National Route 2, just before returning to the Maiko side]
Engine starts.
The low vibration returns to the body.
H: "Hey."
M: "Yeah?"
H: "...I can't tell you to stop, either."
(Pause)
H: "It might get even more painful."
M: "...Yeah."
H: "But if you can still think of it as happiness."
M: "I want to think so."
[Scene 7 Finale (Returning along the coast toward Maiko)]
The bike starts moving.
The sea on the right, the mountains on the left.
Illuminated by the sunset.
M rides on the back.
H keeps looking forward.
H (monologue)

The first and last I love you of my life🎵
(quietly)
"...There's no way you can hear that, is there?"
The exhaust sound stretches out.
Eventually, it fades away.
Only the sound of the waves remains.
H (monologue)
I wish it would just stay like this forever.
...Probably, the moments like that are the shortest.
(A brief pause)
