Canva Websites You Can Create in No Time Without Web Knowledge
Hello, this is Mafuyu.
Today, I went for a walk in a nearby park for the first time in a while.
It was relatively early, but I met so many dogs out for walks and felt so healed... Dogs are precious...
Since I'm starting various activities, I wanted a simple LP-style page to organize my information, so this time I challenged myself to "create a website" using Canva.
The site I actually created is here
(Viewer discretion advised for pages like Kindle)
🎨 What is Canva in the first place?

Companies and sole proprietors who want to reduce outsourcing costs
I sometimes use it for my own design work, and there are also times when requests from companies specify that it be "created in Canva."
It feels like while Adobe tools used to be the only option, Canva has helped broaden the range of production channels and design tools.
✅ Features of Canva's website creation function
Before we get into the main topic, I will summarize the website creation function in Canva.
1. Anyone can create easily without code
Intuitive editing possible with drag-and-drop operations
No knowledge of HTML or CSS required
This is the biggest point. I have zero knowledge of code, but there is no need to write code in the first place, and everything is completed on the canvas.
2. Abundant Templates
Templates available for various purposes such as business, portfolios, events, and personal use
A wide variety of templates compatible with both smartphones and computers
3. Publish with a Custom Domain or Canva Domain
Publish immediately using a free domain provided by Canva (e.g., yourname.my.canva.site). You can publish up to 5 websites with a free domain.
Custom domain connection is also available with a paid plan
4. Responsive Design*
Automatically optimized for display on PCs, smartphones, and tablets (see separate note below)
5. Diverse Content Placement
Easily place text, images, videos, maps, link buttons, and more
Designs with animations can also be inserted
6. Single-Page Format (Ideal for Landing Pages)
Basically a single-page structure
Designed as a long, vertically scrolling page
7. Extremely Easy to Publish and Edit
Reflect changes instantly just by clicking the 'Publish' button after editing
Share the URL to show it to others immediately
🔄 Suitable Uses
Short-term event sites
Landing pages for products or services
Personal portfolios and self-introduction pages
Special pages for campaigns and promotions
⚠️ Disadvantages of Canva Websites
Not suitable for full-scale websites with many pages
Other CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Wix) are superior for SEO, blogging, and e-commerce features
Creating responsive design (design that works on both smartphones and computers) is difficult
Regarding the disadvantages mentioned above, I felt particularly strongly about "responsive design."
Responsive design is web design that automatically adjusts the display to be easy to view according to the viewer's screen size.
By adopting this responsive design, you can make a website designed for computers easy to view when seen on a smartphone.
Sometimes, older websites that didn't adopt this can be difficult to view on a smartphone because they are still displayed in the computer screen format, right?
It is a design that solves such problems.
However, since you cannot set this directly in Canva, using templates is essential until you get used to it.
This point is a disadvantage in that it is difficult to set the design freely.
Try creating a website with Canva
Now, let's actually create one.
1. Choose a template

Log in to Canva (free is fine).
Choose a template (there is a category called Websites).

I borrowed this design for my site!
Once you have decided on a template, click "Customize this template."
2. Design

The creation screen will appear, where you can change the background and text design.

Right-clicking will bring up a separate menu, so you can set links here if you want to.

This is what it looks like when you view the preview screen.
The first image is the screen as seen from a computer, and the second is the screen as seen on a smartphone.
You can switch between them using the toggle button in the top right.
3. Publish

Once your design is ready, return to the design screen and click the "Publish Website" button in the top right corner to specify your preferred address.

After setting this up, click the "Publish" button further down, and your site will be successfully published!

The website I made is here
(Please be careful when viewing pages like Kindle, etc.)

If I had known I could create a website in such simple steps, I would have done it sooner...
Summary
✅ Pros
Extremely easy, fast, and stylish
Feature-rich even for free
Templates are automatically responsive for PC and smartphone
Easy to edit and update
You can publish your own site for free
⚠️ Cons
Cannot handle complex multi-page structures (basically single-page)
SEO and analytics are limited (no Google integration)
Can be tricky when you want to use form functions or features outside of Canva
Building a responsive design from scratch is difficult
The most important thing is to just give it a try.
Canva has its own unique UI, so it might take a little time to get used to it, but basically, you only need simple knowledge to design!
(I also started with zero design knowledge...)
