Pappo [Positive Parenting Campaign]

I'm participating in "My Recommended Picture Book/Favorite Picture Book"!

This book is one I bought for my beloved granddaughter, Mai-chan.

It's a book that was recommended to me by someone I love at my favorite bookstore.

A wonderful book introduced to me by a wonderful clerk at a wonderful bookstore. ☺️

I was hoping Mai-chan would be happy with it, but according to her mother,

"She loves this book so much that she keeps turning to the cuckoo clock page herself, and it ended up tearing, so look, I've taped it up. 😋"

That's what she said. 🤭

I was just so happy, so happy (shivering? 😋)...

This book goes,

Tick-tock, tick-tock, bong
Pappo, pappo, it's a cuckoo clock.

It's a repetition.

And you know, the pendulum part of the grandfather clock picture,
when it turns into a banana,

Kiki, kiki, it's a monkey clock.

That's how it goes.

If it's a fish, it's a cat... 🤭

The repetition is fun, and
the collage illustrations are really well done and so cute.

When it's the lion, everyone is running away... (But everyone looks kind and like they're having fun.)

Mai-chan, who just turned one, picks up this book, stands up, and toddles around. And then,

"Pappo!"
she says. 🤭

It's not just Mai-chan; her mom and her grandpa all
smile because of the joy of "being able to say it" and "getting it across." 👏

On payday in July, I wanted to show that clerk, so I prepared a video on my smartphone of Mai-chan being overjoyed while reading this book, and
I sweated buckets and rode my bicycle for an hour to Ebisu (it's too hot and dangerous. I need to rethink this next time...), but

unfortunately, that clerk wasn't there. I'll try again next time. 😉
