[BL Fanfiction (R18)] Graduation Trip ④
The next morning.
The group leaves their room and heads to the main building for breakfast.
They cross through nature that feels like a park.
Fuku: "The way the morning sun shines is completely different from Japan. The air is so clear."
Ara: "Walking outside to get to the main building... that's actually pretty nice."
Shin: "Look! There are squirrels! So many of them! How cute!"
Todo: "Heh heh heh."
Seeing everyone so happy, Todo looked satisfied.
Breakfast is in the cafeteria.
You order the main dish at the kitchen, and bread, fruit, salad, cereal, etc., are self-service.
Shin: "Wow, such a huge variety! It's the exact opposite of Europe, where it's just bread and coffee!"
Todo: "The basic concepts differ between the European Continental style and the American style. Eat as much as you like."
Fuku: "There are too many types of omelet fillings; I can't choose."
Todo: "Don't hold back. If you order a 'Western,' they'll put in ham, tomatoes, cheese, and everything else."
Ara: "Hey! They're grilling steak first thing in the morning! That's amazing! Should I have some?"
Todo: "It's a morning steak. Enjoy the land of the free that defies common sense in a good way."
Each of them orders what they like, fills their trays, and takes a seat.
Shin: "This French toast is the best! I could eat plates of it!"
Fuku: "Is this really an omelet? It's not fluffy or creamy at all. But it's incredibly delicious."
Ara: "The steak is so big it's hanging off the plate! The baked potato is overflowing too! This is way too wild!"
Todo: "Make up your mind whether you're angry or happy, Arakita."
Todo doesn't order from the kitchen; he's making an original sandwich by putting self-service ham, cheese, and vegetables on bread.
Shin: "Oh~. This is it. The one in the bottle I've always admired."
Shinkai picks up the bottle of ketchup provided on the table.
He turns it upside down to put some on his hash browns, but it won't come out.
Ara: "Hey, be careful."
As he taps the bottom of the bottle...
Splat!
A massive amount of ketchup splattered onto his plate.
Shinkai: "Ah"
Arakita: "Damn it! I told you so!"
The fries were buried in so much ketchup that they were no longer visible.
Toudou watched this with a smirk.
Shinkai: "Auu"
Arakita: "Can't be helped!"
Fukutomi: "I'll help you out too."
Arakita and Fukutomi were scooping the ketchup off Shinkai's plate with spoons.
Then they put it on their own fries and omelets and ate it.
Arakita: "Hm?"
Fukutomi: "Mm?"
Shinkai: "Oh?"
They were all surprised after one bite.
Arakita: "It's delicious!"
Fukutomi: "What is this ketchup?!"
Shinkai: "It's completely different from Japanese ketchup!"
Toudou: "Heh heh heh..."
Toudou gave a daring smile as he brushed his bangs back.
Toudou: "Hayato dumped it all out, but actually, that's the right way to do it. Around here, people eat it by soaking it in ketchup. The bottle empties in no time."
Thud!
Arakita: "I mean, seriously! Why is something like ketchup this good?!"
Arakita slammed the table and shouted.
Toudou: "The ingredients themselves are just delicious no matter what. The climate and the land are completely different, after all. That's why you can be satisfied with them as they are, without much processing."
Fukutomi: "A country with good food makes everything look good."
Shinkai: "I thought Japanese food was the best, but at this rate, I won't be able to go home."
Toudou: "Now, now, don't jump to conclusions, Hayato. You'll realize eventually that, all things considered, Japanese food is still the best in the world."
Fukutomi: "But Toudou. This apple, though..."
Fukutomi pointed to an apple cut in half.
Fukutomi: "In Japan, the sweeter the apple, the better, but this apple is incredibly sour. And it's hard. But... it's extremely delicious. Is Japan wrong?"
Hearing that, Toudou grinned.
