Shin: "By the way, Jinpachi."
Shinkai speaks to Todou, who is eating a bacon salad.
Shin: "Is it $1 per person for room tips in America?"
Tou: "Hmm. It's better to remember it as $1 per bed rather than per person. If it's a twin room, you should just leave two $1 bills on the side table."
Fuku: "I think tipping is a fairly logical system."
Ara: "Me too. Japan already has great service so it's not necessary, but in foreign countries, it's a rational system for improving service, isn't it?"
The group is positive about the tipping system.
Tou: "Some people find tipping to be a hassle, but it can be fun if you just put a little effort into it."
Shin: "Fun?"
Todou begins to explain while fluttering a paper napkin in his hand.
Tou: "For example, you place a memo pad under the tip. You write 'Thank You' on it."
Fuku: "Oh? And then?"
Tou: "Then, when you return to the room, sometimes there's a reply written on the memo pad."
Ara: "Seriously?"
Tou: "Sometimes there are extra amenities left, or a towel animal added."
Shin: "Really? Isn't that wonderful!"
The three of them look at each other with surprised faces and smile.
Tou: "Usually you don't get to meet the housekeeping staff, but you can communicate like this. Not bad, right?"
Ara: "I see. Let's go back to the room and leave a note right away."
Shin: "I'm looking forward to going back this evening."
Todou watches the excited Arakita and Shinkai with narrowed eyes, finding them endearing.
The group heads to a different theme park than yesterday.
Within its vast grounds, pavilions from countries all over the world, such as Europe, Africa, and Australia, were lined up.
There were sales of local specialties from each country, presentations of industrial products, restaurants, and so on.
In front of the buildings, they were performing folk dances.
Arakita: "Whoa! That's amazing!"
Fukutomi: "In other words, a world expo is being held here all year round."
Shinkai: "They really thought this through. Usually, just holding a world expo is a huge deal for any country."
The three of them looked around, impressed.
Todo: "The funny thing is..."
Todo said with a smirk.
Todo: "The Japan Pavilion."
Arakita: "They have one! A Japan Pavilion!"
Fukutomi: "That's interesting."
Shinkai: "Let's go, let's go! We definitely have to go!"
Everyone was intrigued.
The group immediately headed toward the Japan Pavilion.
A pine forest like the Tokaido.
A red torii gate on the summit of Mt. Fuji floating in a pond.
A five-story pagoda towering over Kinkaku-ji.
A flashy structure that combined Osaka Castle and Nagoya Castle.
In front of the building, a show featuring ninjas and sumo wrestlers fighting was being held.
Fukutomi: "W-what is this...!"
Arakita: "What the hell is this!"
Shinkai: "This is awful!"
The three were stunned at the sight of the Japan Pavilion's chaotic state.
Todo watched them, holding back laughter.
Arakita: "What era is this from!"
Fukutomi: "It's not just anachronistic, it's just plain wrong in so many ways."
Shinkai: "Do they still have this 'Fujiyama Geisha' image of us over here?"
The three of them held their heads in their hands.
Todo: "Well, anyway, let's go inside."
Todo ushered the three of them into the building.
Inside the building, various Japanese crafts and toys were being sold.
Fuku: "...T-tin?"
Shin: "Isn't that a toy from the early Showa era!"
Ara: "Something's wrong! Japan is supposed to be more cutting-edge!"
The three of them are getting irritated.
Ara: "Aaaah!"
Arakita let out a scream.
Looking over, a young foreign girl was happily purchasing a Hakata doll at the register.
Ara: "No! If it's a Japanese doll, it should be more like... Poly-Cure! Or Hello Gity! Or Pekachu!"
Arakita went frantic and started scratching his head.
Tou: "Calm down. Let's go outside."
Even though they had just entered the Japan Pavilion, everyone gave up immediately.
