Although I thought I had said my goodbyes on the Limited Express Hida in March 2023, I found myself more attached to the Kiha 85 than I expected, so I planned a trip to the Nanki region in May to also say goodbye to the 85 on the Limited Express Nanki.Last time, I reported on the outbound journey on the Limited Express Nanki!

From Kii-Katsuura Station, this is truly the last Kiha 85

I stayed in Kii-Katsuura. It was a 3-day, 2-night trip where I visited all three Kumano Sanzan shrines and was able to spend time relaxing in the Katsuura area. Finally, it was time to take the Limited Express Nanki back. I made sure to arrive at the station an hour early.This time, I really want to see the Wide View!

However, I, madaka, made the mistake of lining up in the wrong place! Since the lead car is non-reserved seating, I would have been guaranteed a spot if I had lined up first!!

Hurry! Hurry!!

I can't believe 1CD was taken by someone who was on the train from Nagoya! It's so unfair to take 1CD on the return trip (´;ω;｀) So, madaka secured seat 1AB!

The return trip on the Kiha 85 Limited Express Nanki. Experiencing the Wide View

We departed from Kii-Katsuura Station. I finally got to experience the Wide View I'd been longing for. It's moving. Isn't the Kumano Sea amazing?

The Limited Express Nanki, a diesel train, runs on electrified tracks until Shingu Station. It was an interesting situation (lol)

Also, it's difficult to get a bento box around Kii-Katsuura Station. There are convenience stores, but they are a little bit away from the station. And I couldn't get anything to eat inside the station. madaka did some research and got one at the place below.

I'll also be drinking on the train for the return trip.

Immediately after hearing this announcement, the Nanki pulled into Nagoya Station.

I was able to have a Wide View experience on the return Nanki. It's like the Kiha 85 gave me one last memory.
