The Only Way to Regain Lost Trust
Regaining trust through the way you speak
~A prescription for words to turn silence into a 'fresh start'~
Hello, this is Sayu.
When human relationships become strained,
isn't 'talking it out' the most difficult part?
'No, I know that. But the other person won't engage in that conversation. Even if I try to talk to them, I get ignored, and I just end up feeling miserable.'
I can almost hear those voices.

Whether between spouses, lovers, or long-time friends,
a single 'choice of words' can open someone's heart, or cause it to never return again.
I have received many consultations so far, and
it is not an 'incident' that destroys trust, but 'words'.
And, it is also 'words' that regain trust.
Today, I will share 'how to deliver words to a broken relationship once more'.
I will teach you a
word reconstruction method that turns a time of silence not into an 'end', but into a 'fresh start'.
'Words of excuse' push hearts away
After losing trust, everyone ends up doing
the act of 'defending oneself with righteousness'.
'That wasn't my intention'
'I might have misled you, but I didn't mean any harm'
'Because at that time...'
Even if there is no malice, all of it sounds like 'self-preservation'.
What the other person wants to hear is not the 'reason', but the 'feelings'.
Behind the question 'Why did you do that?',
the pain of 'What did you think of me?' is hidden.
If you truly want to win someone back,
first stop 'explaining the reasons', and
start by 'acknowledging their emotions'.
There are words that almost always appear
in the characteristics of couples or spouses whose conversations miss the mark.
Those are 'but', 'because', and 'that's not it'.
Even if unconscious, these words
have the effect of 'denying' what the other person is saying.
When people are denied, they close their hearts.
Conversely, when they are accepted with a "That's true,"
they feel safe enough to speak their true feelings.
For example, like this.
✖️ "But, that's not what I meant."
◯ "That's true, I think it's understandable that you felt that way."
Just by changing a single word,
you can tell that the other person's breathing changes.
Trust is rebuilt not through logic, but through the "atmosphere."
Try to be conscious of "gentle breathing" rather than "correct words."
"Silence" is not rejection, but a defensive reaction of the heart.
"You won't say anything to me."
"Why do you stay silent?"
Are you unable to endure such moments of silence,
and trying to rush to fill them with words?
However, silence is not rejection.
In many cases, it is adefensive reaction of the heart.
When people are deeply hurt, they first go silent to "protect themselves."
They are not angry; they are processing their pain.
Instead of taking that silence as being "ignored,"
trust and wait, thinking, "They are taking time to choose their words right now."
Just by doing that, the atmosphere of the relationship will gradually change.
3-Step "Word Process" for Rebuilding Trust
Here, I will introduce the "conversation flow for rebuilding trust"
that I share in my actual sessions, in three steps.
🌿STEP 1: Speak about the past through "acknowledgment," not "explanation."
When looking back at the past,
it is important not to explain "why it happened,"
but to calmly acknowledge "what happened at that time."
For example,
"I tried to hide my own weaknesses."
"I lied because I didn't want to lose you."
Organize and convey the "facts and feelings" without adding emotion.
This is neither an apology nor self-justification.
By showing the "strength to face things honestly,"
the other person will feel for the first time that "this person is trying to change."
🌿STEP 2: Have the "courage to listen" to the other person's feelings.
After saying "I'm sorry,"
only a handful of people can ask, "How did you feel?"
But that is exactly where the real chance for repair lies.
When you listen to the other person's feelings,
you might receive harsher words than you expected.
However, "accepting" that is the first step toward restoring trust.
"I see that I made you feel that way."
With just those words, a heart frozen like ice begins to melt little by little.
🌿STEP 3: Talk about the "future"
Many people end up arguing about past events over and over again.
But what is important is "how we will live from now on."
"I will try to be honest from now on."
"I will make days to prioritize my family over work."
"I want to increase the time we spend together where you can feel at ease."
Words focused on the future
are delivered with the energy of "hope."
You cannot change the past anymore, but
you can rebuild the "future" as many times as you like starting today.
If you want to "regain trust," do not fear silence
What many male clients have in common is
the habit of fearing "silence" and trying to fill it with logic immediately.
However, what is truly necessary isthe resolve to be there for them in the silence.
Look them in the eye and
quietly say, "I'm sorry."
After that, accept their tears without saying a word.
This "time beyond words" is what
promotes the restoration of trust.
Silence is not a time when nothing is happening.
It is apremonition of rebirthfor the heart to begin moving again.
Words from Sayu
Words can be a blade, or they can be a prayer.
That is why, if you regret the past where you caused hurt,
please continue to choose "healing words"in your life from now on.
Trust is not regained through a perfect apology.
It quietly returns from the daily attitude of "living sincerely again."
If there is something you really want to tell your loved one,
even just one word today is fine.
Whether it is "thank you" or "I'm sorry."
That one word becomes the "first lamp" that lights up the silent night.
🌸If you are currently struggling with
"I don't know how to talk about it"
"No matter what I say, it just backfires"
please do not carry it alone.
On my official LINE, I will work with you to organize
"how to choose words for relationship repair" according to your situation.
Any relationship can be changed through words.
Your words have the power to set love in motion once again.
Next time,
with the theme of "the courage to let go of someone you cannot forgive," I will share how to "sublimate the past" rather than "end the past."
Thank you for reading until the end.
I hope this resonates with someone's heart.
Wishing you a wonderful day today as well🍀
