Work Requests & Inquiries
I am Machika-sensei, a writing instructor and writer.
On this page, I will introduce proposals and examples of using writing as content that can serve as hints for attracting customers and planning.
It is a waste to think of writing only as a child's extracurricular activity! Intellectual training, entrance exams, life skills, lifelong learning, home education, communication skills, employee training... Why not work together to create highly satisfying projects using a slightly novel yet universally enjoyable "writing" content?
Please take a look at the user manual for "Writing Class" and "Writing Instructor" (*^^*)
About Writing Class Third Place

Established in 2012
In 2024, 12 years have passed since I started the writing class. I began in Fukuoka in 2012. From 2024, I am also conducting lessons in Kumamoto using the same materials.
Number of students and capacity for each class
Although it varies by fiscal year, I have fun lessons every month with about 100 elementary and junior high school students. Since most requests for high school students and above are for individual lessons, they are not included in the number of classroom students.
Origin of the classroom name
The name "Third Place" comes from the desire for children to have "another place to belong" in addition to school and home. It is important to cherish opportunities to interact with "adults" who are different from school teachers or family members. I will continue to operate the classroom as an extracurricular activity where children can attend with peace of mind.
Management Philosophy
I also share methods for talking to children at home so that more children can say with a smile, "I love writing!" and "I love myself!"
Features of Third Place
First-time students can take a trial lesson. The enrollment rate from trial lessons has been almost 100% since opening! The reason lies in what I have heard from parents. They all say with a look of surprise, "Because my child said, 'It was fun! I want to attend!' on their own." The moment you feel a child's will is a parent's greatest reward, isn't it?
And, the mechanism that keeps students coming to class is the once-a-month lesson & no homework style. This is a policy I have valued since opening. Once a month is the frequency that makes them look forward to the next lesson so that writing does not become an obligation. There is also no homework so that they do not feel uneasy thinking, "I don't want to go because I haven't done my homework."
Information on permanent writing classes

Group lessons (once a month)
The standard format is a monthly group lesson. Having the opportunity to encounter the thoughts and opinions of others is very valuable, isn't it? Our classroom is organized into Elementary School Class (all grades), Junior High School Class (all grades), where students learn alongside those in different grades.
There is no one here who laughs in a mean way or gets angry on impulse. The instructor at the Writing Classroom Third Place is skilled at finding and communicating the 'strengths' of each individual student (*^-^*) The students are also very good at finding and telling each other about their 'amazing points.' It is a classroom with a very encouraging atmosphere. Please feel at ease♡
I provide guidance so that you can gain confidence in your writing. You will acquire composition methods from multiple perspectives, such as thematic writing, vocabulary enhancement, expression improvement, and summarization skills.
Cultivate your own perspective and deepen your thinking. Let's polish your reading comprehension, structural skills, and summarization skills through the interpretation of themes. You will be able to have 'your own opinions.' We also provide perfect preparation for high school entrance exam essays!
Once a month, I will send out teaching materials. I also share explanatory videos by the instructor that summarize 'how to interpret themes' and 'points for writing.' Once the essay is completed, it will be returned after correction. This is a course for those who find it difficult to attend the classroom in person.
Individual Lessons (Available upon request)
In-person individual lessons are limited to Fukuoka and Kumamoto, where the instructor is available (travel expenses are separate). Online individual lessons are not limited by location, so anyone can participate.
Students of high school age and above, working adults, and other age groups for whom group lessons are not provided choose individual lessons. Also, even for elementary and junior high school students, some choose individual lessons due to their personal circumstances, such as being the type who can focus better alone, needing privacy due to entrance exams or work-related confidentiality, or having developmental or mental disabilities.
Individual Correction (Optional)
The correction option involves you sending in the essays or documents you have written, which I will then correct and return to you.
There are different directions for corrections. If you are a student, you might want 'praise to build confidence' or 'thorough revisions because it affects grades.' If you are an examinee, you might want 'guidance aimed at passing standards because the exam is at stake.' If you are a job seeker, you might want 'tips on how to make a winning entry sheet.' If you are a working professional, you might want 'polishing materials so that presentations or proposals get approved,' and so on.
First, please let me know the length of the text and your requirements. I am sure I can be of help (*^-^*) In addition to corrections, I will also provide highly reproducible advice on what to be careful about in the future so that you can write well on your own.
One-day Courses & Single Workshops

One-day Course
During long breaks such as summer vacation, I hold 'Book Report Courses' at various culture centers. The summer vacation homework assistance project is very popular every year! In addition to book reports, I can handle various requests such as memory essays and writing contest submissions.
Single Workshop
I also conduct writing workshops at commercial and public facilities. At the organizer's request, I can provide a wide variety of content at very reasonable rates. I will announce these on Machika-sensei's X and note, so please check them out.
On-site Lessons, Homework Support + Childcare, and Self-Help Group Support
This is a surprisingly popular request format. I am able to accommodate quite flexible requests to some extent, perhaps because I am a mother who has experienced various ways of working, such as being a full-time housewife, a working housewife, and a primary breadwinner.
I have received requests from groups of close mom friends saying, 'Please conduct a writing lesson in our apartment's multipurpose room,' and from working parents saying, 'We will have our children come during the day, so please help them with their writing homework. There are five of them in total. They will be home late, but we will each pick them up,' which led me to provide services similar to private after-school care (or family support).
Study sessions (consultations) for self-help groups are also something I am invited to. It is more reasonable than individual requests, and it is popular because it provides a sense of security as it is a closed lesson (no public announcement).

Activity Record and Implementation Examples

Going beyond the scope of extracurricular lessons, I provide multifaceted learning centered on writing and composition skills. I will create programs and plans to meet your needs. Please feel free to contact me.
Educational Institutions
・Training classes at elementary and junior high schools
I conduct writing instruction classes. I will also attend the reflection session after implementation and share materials, etc. Dates during long holidays are also available.
・Career education at high schools
I give lectures on the writing and teaching professions as career options. I also provide writing instruction according to your needs, such as for career guidance support, as part of volunteer activities, or for internships.
・Welfare facilities
This classroom provides instruction as a part-time instructor at welfare facilities. Collaboration with therapeutic education and writing programs for adults with mental or developmental disabilities are also available.
・Introduction of teaching materials & courses
I help cram schools and learning support facilities introduce writing instruction programs. It is possible to conduct lessons as a group class or offer correction instruction as an option. In addition to aiming for basic academic improvement, there are also courses for entrance exam preparation. Please note that there is a prescribed fee for the introduction of teaching materials and courses. The content fosters a 'sense of being able to write' that cannot be obtained just by correcting and returning work, so the satisfaction level of the students themselves and their parents is different.
Government
・Lifelong learning courses
I am available to conduct writing workshops for lifelong learning at public facilities and community centers. Popular topics include creating a personal history and posting on social media.
・Regional Revitalization
I also assist with projects to create original reading materials. While they may not be featured on the web or in magazines, I support the creation of free papers that convey the charm only known to those living in that town, handling direction, progress management, and editorial responsibility for public contributors. There are also requests like, I want to know how to write better because I want to put more effort into social media. As someone who also lives in a rural area, I understand this very well. I hope we can work together to liven things up.
・Children's Centers & Parenting Plazas
I have incorporated language communication programs for parents with children. Methods for choosing picture books, reading aloud, and encouraging speech are widely understood. What comes next? Being able to teach how to connect to the 'writing' stage is something we can do because we run a writing school. Since I also have writing programs specialized for developmental disabilities, collaboration with therapeutic education is also possible.
・Entrepreneurship Support
I have previously conducted seminars for those aiming to become home-based workers such as writers, provided direction for home-based workers (outsourcing), and appeared as a speaker at startup seminars for entrepreneurs.
・Boards of Education
Every year, I receive requests from multiple local governments (boards of education) to undertake PTA newsletter creation workshops. Drawing from my own experience as the PTA public relations chair at my child's school, I speak from a unique perspective: 'What is needed to create a PTA newsletter smoothly is editorial skill, not writing skill' and 'Creating a PTA newsletter that even those who were just picked by lottery can enjoy and participate in without strain'. The survey results are apparently extremely good. (I feel a mix of 'Oh, really?' and 'Well, of course!!!' ♡)
Companies
Collaborations with companies are diverse. Broadly speaking, they fall into two categories: those aimed at employees to strengthen writing skills, and those providing customers with 'writing' content.
・Employee Training
Examples for employees include employee training and career development. There is high demand for in-house writing courses such as 'Let's master business writing' and 'You can freely get work if you are conscious of sales writing in both emails and talks'.
Correction and guidance for planning documents and presentation materials are also introduced by some companies. Once acquired, this know-how lasts a lifetime, so the effect is immense.
・Customer Satisfaction
Examples for customers include event planning and CSR. I can provide a variety of plans, such as coordinating events where child reporters conduct interviews, supporting vocational experience programs like KidZania, and conducting writing quiz tournaments on commercial facility event stages.
For CSR initiatives, I can handle everything from meeting minutes to CSR reports (these may also be accepted as writing projects). For external outreach, I provide support for running submission projects on TV or radio programs, organizing writing contests where you can leave the recruitment, selection, and critiques to me, or supporting activities such as collecting and publishing works based on themes aligned with corporate philosophy to donate to government or non-profit organizations, among various other requests.
Media
・Magazine Courses / Feature Articles
For feature projects, I provide themes and supervision on topics such as "How to write a book report," "Encouragement to improve writing skills," and "Creating 'experiences' that make you want to write." I can arrange the angle and development to suit the medium. I receive requests from a wide range of media, including parenting, educational, and leisure-related publications.
・Serialized Articles / One-off Essays
I can write for both print and web media. I also provide materials such as photos. While I usually use a character icon like this note account, I am also available to appear on camera depending on the difficulty of the project.
・Project Supervision
Supplements including writing worksheets, participating as a facilitator for reader round-table discussions, or coordinating parent-child pairs who can be interviewed about writing education (mainly my students and their parents)—I also receive requests for project assistance and supervision.
・Self-publishing Support
Newsletters and Zines (reading materials published by individuals or companies with free-form ideas) are also supported. If you leave the entire production to me, it will be handled as an editorial writing project, but the benefit of requesting support from us at Third Place is that we can provide the know-how for you to be able to create them yourselves.
