Today, I would like to "Hoshino Resorts Banta Cafe" introduce "Seaside Art Days", an event held from March 16 to May 12, 2024, where you can relax by the spring seaside decorated with art🎨

The inspiration behind "Seaside Art Days"🎨

"Seaside Art Days" brings together artists leading the next generation of Okinawan culture to showcase art installations that harmonize with the scenery and space of Banta Cafe. This event began in 2021 with the desire to

introduce works by artists with sensibilities nurtured by Okinawa's climate and to help people feel closer to art🖼️

For this fourth edition,
artworks that make the most of Banta Cafe's landscape will be displayed throughout the area, and live painting sessions and workshops hosted by the artists will also be held.

Please enjoy a relaxing cafe time by the sea while experiencing the latest Okinawan art during the pleasant, mild spring weather🩰🐚🫧

1. A permanent exhibition surrounded by art🖼️

The "Seaside Terrace," where gazebos are scattered along the walking path from the cliff to the beach, will transform into the "Tinkaji* Terrace," where art flutters in the sea breeze during the event period✨

Works turned into textiles will be displayed like canopies, and also used to cover large cushions. Spend a relaxing cafe time wrapped in your favorite works in one of the five gazebos, each with a different atmosphere depending on the artist.

*A coined word combining the Okinawan words "tin" (sky) and "kaji" (wind)

2. A special exhibition where you can meet and talk to artists and feel art up close⛵️

A powerful performance painting on a large canvas in the soft spring sunlight. The completed work will be displayed inside Banta Cafe during the event period and can also be enjoyed as a photo spot📸

In the workshop by Mr. Koshu Chibana, where you can experience the traditional Okinawan craft of "Bingata," you can try your hand at dyeing using stencils with creative motifs, along with the brushes and dyes unique to Bingata🖌️

3. Limited-edition menu items that evoke art appear🍹

The "Artistic Island Shake," a drink inspired by colorful art, uses a shake made with island tofu gelato and bananas as a blank white canvas.
The colorful puree decorating the cup stands out against the seaside scenery🌊🌈✨

This sweet, depicting butterflies visiting the spring seaside, is a "Jimami Nougat Tart," made with French nougat using jimami (peanuts).
The crunchy nuts and tropical dried fruits like passion fruit, mango, and papaya are accented by the aroma of carefully selected Okinawan honey🍯

What is Hoshino Resorts Banta Cafe?

About a one-hour drive from Naha Airport.
Located in the west coast area of Yomitan Village, where you can gaze out at the calm sea, it is one of the largest seaside cafes in Japan, boasting an overwhelming view and scale.

Located next to "Hoshinoya Okinawa," this cafe is a place where guests can also
relax and enjoy their time during their stay☘️

The premises, which stretch from the top of a cliff overlooking the sea down to the beach, feature four unique areas where you can enjoy Okinawan-style drinks and food in your favorite spot, depending on your mood that day.
