[Family x AI] I kept writing on note every day, and on the 100th day, my dream came to me.
One day, I happened to come across a book at a bookstore: "100-Day Challenge" by Ami Otsuka.
I tucked the words from the author, Ms. Otsuka, on her note—'Consistency brings opportunities beyond your imagination'—into my heart like a lucky charm, and without telling a soul, I secretly began a challenge.
Write on note every day for 100 days.
I'll go as far as I can. And before I knew it—it was the 100th day.
I never imagined that national television cameras would enter my living room three times.
And I never imagined that a big dream I had hoped to fulfill before I died would come to me on its own.
If I told the me from 100 days ago, she definitely wouldn't believe it.
Why did I start it 'secretly'?
I had always been quite good at 'consistency.' I took pride in having overcome many things through sheer motivation and grit.
But the problem was my three children.
Things get interrupted regardless of my own will.
My daily life managing the upbringing of three children is filled with unpredictable events that are beyond my control.
That's why I couldn't make a public declaration. I didn't want anyone to think 'I knew it' when I inevitably had to stop due to external factors. If that were the case, I decided from the start to make it a challenge just for myself, without letting anyone have expectations.
And above all,'Using AI at home'—I was also anxious about whether I could really find enough material for 100 days on such a niche theme.
My battlefield was the chaos of 'home'
This isn't about business efficiency. The theme I focused on relentlessly for my note was the 'nameless tasks' that pile up at home.
Daily life at home is more multi-layered than you might think.
Children's schedules, meal planning, sudden calls, and unexpected troubles—
Even though it should be progressing along a single timeline, multiple lanes are running in my head simultaneously,
and I need to keep adjusting their priorities on the fly.
It looks calm from the outside, but behind the scenes, it's a series of small decisions and adjustments.
Before I knew it, I was repeating those invisible adjustments every single day.
But I knew something.
This chaotic situation is exactly where technology shines.
Because raising children and doing housework are creative projects that require vast amounts of knowledge and judgment.
If an AI implementation fails at a company, it's a big deal, but at home, my family will laugh and forgive me. There are countless small problems, and I can try and fail as many times as I want. Home is the 'ultimate testing ground' where you can try out AI casually.
Before I knew it, I was in the middle of the 'wave of the era'
Once I started, the anxiety about running out of material vanished in an instant.
In fact, the world of AI was evolving at a speed I couldn't even keep up with.
During these 100 days, ChatGPT has been updated many times, and new services such as
NotebookLM, Cursor, Claude Code, and Gemini CLI have appeared one after another. And to master them, I began organizing my ideas in
Obsidian, using
Discord for family and prototype communication, saving code on GitHub
, and trying out small automations on Replit.
These were tools I thought had nothing to do with me 100 days ago. The process of actually touching them, making mistakes, and gradually learning how to make them work was a series of new discoveries every day. Just by thinking, 'Where can I use this in my chaotic household?', one challenge after another kept coming to mind.
Then one day, I was struck by something while talking to someone. 'Wait, everyone, you're not using AI that much...?' 'Is this tool, by any chance, not very well known...?'
When I timidly asked during interviews or coverage, 'Is this kind of ordinary story okay?', the person in charge would have their eyes light up and say eagerly, 'It's interesting! It's great!'
In that moment, I realized. Before I knew it, I had become 'someone on the knowledgeable side'.
What I had been writing about was shining a new light called AI on 'nameless housework and childcare'. And I finally realized that this was fresh and valuable information for many people.
The unbelievable became reality
What happened during these 100 days was truly 'beyond imagination'.
Three national television appearances. Requests for interviews from major media outlets and two published articles. My note had over 10,000 views in one week, and there was a day when it was displayed 750,000 times on X.
Before I knew it, I started being followed by people I thought were way out of my league. 'What on earth do these people expect from me?' Their silent gaze made me feel braced.
And then, a dream-like offer
Then one day, an unbelievable email arrived. Because it was so sudden and such a big event, fear welled up before joy.
Before I knew it, I had rushed into a shrine I happened to pass by. 'Please, let this go well.' I thought it was selfish to only pray to God at times like this, but I put my hands together in earnest.
That someone like me, who just kept posting, could receive such an opportunity. I am convinced that this is a miraculous connection that came around precisely because of the last 100 days.
The 100th day is a new starting line
Finally, the 100th day. It's not just the environment around me that has changed with this challenge. My own heart has changed the most.
The me who hesitated to take on challenges because 'I'm raising children' is gone. The me who felt inferior about struggling at home is also gone.
Now, I can say it with pride. The home is the best laboratory for creating the future. And in 'nameless tasks', there lies value enough to move society. Persistence is not about waiting for opportunities to come. It is the very power that allows you to change yourself, change the scenery, and go grab opportunities for yourself by continuing.
The 100th day. This is not the goal. It is the beginning of a new chapter.
