Christmas Morning
Merry Christmas.
I am not a Christian, but my husband's family is, so Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations of the year, and the family gathers to have a meal together.
Since I was supposed to host Christmas Eve this year, I spent about two days baking sweets and cooking constantly.
I felt exhausted, but it makes me happy when people tell me it tastes good.
In our house, we open Christmas presents on the 25th, and ever since the children were small, I was always the first to wake up, waiting for them to wake up early. I would listen intently, wondering if they were up yet, so I wouldn't miss their reaction when they found the presents from Santa.
Now that the children are older, there are no more presents from Santa, and opening gifts doesn't have the same excitement as when they were little, but it is still fun for us all to open presents together.
I was the first to wake up again today, so I quietly went downstairs to the living room and sat on the sofa so as not to wake anyone.
After a while, I noticed something on the floor. I thought it might be a cracker crumb from what we were eating yesterday, so I picked it up and realized it was a charm of Jesus Christ.
Oh my. Isn't that perfect for Christmas morning?

When I checked, it turned out to be a charm from my niece's bracelet, who had visited the day before. No one noticed it when there were many people here yesterday, and no one noticed it even when our family was bustling around the living room after the guests had left.
The fact that the Christ charm was lying in a place where it was clearly visible, and at the very first moment in the morning when I was alone, felt like a stylish gesture.
I am not religious, but I feel a sense of closeness to Christ and the Virgin Mary, so that is how I felt.
If you call it a coincidence, that is exactly what it is, but even at times like that, I like to think of it as an act of the angels, and I thank the playful angels.
It is past noon, and the children still don't look like they are going to wake up.
Under the Christmas tree, there are still plenty of presents waiting to be opened. I wonder when they will wake up.
