Parent-Child Sanctuary ✦ I went to the pre-opening
Good morning.
This is Tomoko ♩
Last weekend, I visited this pre-opening event 👇

It was a 45-minute drive from my house,
located in a peaceful mountain area in central Kyoto Prefecture,
and it was a lovely old folk house.
It is a project launched by someone I have been working with for many years at the [Parents' Group for School Non-Attendance and Social Withdrawal],
along with their former colleagues.
Seeing their vision of 'I want to do something like this' take shape,
and being there at the very moment it was about to start,
gave me so much courage and energy!

It was fun to have some craft time without the kids for a change 😁
In the midst of nature,
for people experiencing school non-attendance or social withdrawal and their parents,
for those with or without disabilities,
they hope it becomes a place where anyone can drop by,
and feel a little bit comforted.
I think this is an activity that will become a beacon of hope for the region.
(In fact, even government officials came to visit.)
I want to help out in any way I can,
so for now,
I registered as a supporter as a yoga instructor.
They are planning various activities like handicrafts and cooking meals together,
and I am looking forward to what is to come ^^

With the candlelight and Christmas songs,
I really felt the end of the year all at once 🎄
Parents and children who are truant often feel isolated.
For the sake of the children, parents first
need a place where they can feel at ease
to maintain their own peace of mind.
I run a [Parents' Group],
but I understand that taking that first step requires courage,
and that it can be hard to go somewhere nearby.
I am also thinking about what I might be able to do.
Well then, it's Monday.
Let's make today a great day too!
