☕ The day I wondered, 'Is something wrong with me?'

Has anyone ever wondered, out of the blue, 'Is something wrong with me?'
Ayappe has.
Quite a few times, actually.
I would be fine one moment, and then
suddenly, my head would start throbbing.
I hadn't done anything, yet
a sense of 'pain' would well up from somewhere, and even taking medicine wouldn't help at all.
For days on end.
I'd even laugh a little at how ineffective it was, thinking, 'Wait, why? What is this medicine even for?'
And then, it would suddenly hit me.
Huh? Could this...
be emotional pain
instead?
It wasn't that I could cry.
I didn't even know what I was sad about.
My mind couldn't figure it out, no matter how much I thought about it.
But then, tears would start falling on their own, and
with a messy face,
as I let the words spill out,
I'd realize that
the headache I had just a moment ago
was starting to fade away.
It's strange, isn't it?
That empathy works better than medicine.
'Talking to someone'
'Letting myself cry'
Isn't it a bit mysterious that just that is enough to make the pain subside?
In my personal experience,
all those mysterious headaches that I couldn't find an explanation for
were signs that my emotions were bottled up.
Like when I swallowed my feelings to accommodate someone else.
Or when I read the room so much that
I felt like I was fading away.
When I was acting like I was 'fine' on the surface,
but my heart was
actually crying the whole time.
Learning terms like HSP or
empath made me feel a little relieved, realizing, 'Oh, I was just feeling things too intensely.'
But even so,
in everyday life, I still hear people say, 'You're so difficult,' or 'You're overthinking it,' quite often.
But you know,
far from being a nuisance,
my body had been telling me
the voice of my heart all along.
Even before I realized it,
'I'm hurting,'
'I'm holding back,'
it was telling me
through headaches and fatigue.
When I cried, I felt better.
While blowing my nose, that is.
That isn't 'weakness,'
but I think it's proof
that I am 'living while truly feeling.'
So,
it's okay to be proud of myself for being able to cry,
and even if I don't understand why,
I don't have to blame the tears that come out.
Ayappe's head feels lighter now, and my heart has relaxed, too.
The pain I felt until just a moment ago
might have been a sign
saying, 'I'm glad you were able to cry.'
I thought that if this realization
could perhaps
be a hint for someone else,
then I would
gently leave it here as an article.
Signs of emotions we can't even notice ourselves.
When you can let them out,
you'll surely feel better ☺️
