The Second Semester Has Begun - A Poem

I thought summer vacation would last forever
Aya-chan looks a little lonely
Our fun memories
Rode the summer breeze and vanished far away

The infinitely transparent sea of Iojima
It was shallow, so even Aya-chan could walk out to the open sea
There was no one around, just hermit crabs playing
We floated along on our inner tubes
The clouds followed along with us

The Meganebashi Bridge in Isahaya
The moss-covered rocks call back memories of ancient times
On the bridge, together with Mom
We posed like mayflies
Click, we took a magical photo

The Expo venue
Was a sea of people, people, people
Once we entered the gate
Everyone ran at full speed
When Aya-chan almost fell
Dad caught her firmly
Sweat was glistening on Dad's forehead
We managed to see the Spain Pavilion properly

Today is the start of the second semester
I guess I'll never
See this summer again

Heading to school in my favorite black blouse
Every friend greeted me
With a sun-tanned face
A new school life has begun
Even though I have a little bit of the 'don't want to go' bug...

Alright!! I'm going to make
The second semester a fun school life too!
Even though the sandal rub from the trip stings and hurts...
