What! I can't believe it! The student who betrayed me
Hello.
The other day were the Eiken exam results.
Even if you do well in practice, exams often
don't go well on the day of the exam
due to 'nerves'.
I, too, have had my hands shake while holding a pencil,
been unable to fill in the marks correctly,
had terrible stomach aches,
or had to go to the bathroom over and over.
A student with a personality similar to mine
took the Grade 3 exam this time.
The closer it got to the exam,
the fewer mistakes they made,
and they almost stopped making mistakes
in their specialty, listening.
In my mind,
I thought they would pass with ease.
Then, a few days after the exam,
the mother, who had self-graded the test,
sent a LINE message saying,
'The listening score was XX (tears)'
(↑ about half the usual score)
'What?'
Where and how did they mess up!!??
And the mother said,
'I haven't told my child about this yet.
I will consult with my child again
about whether to take the exam next time'...
'Wait a minute!'
"The results aren't out yet, are they??"
I also checked with other teacher friends
to see if there were any students in the past
who passed with this listening score.
And then
"There are people who have passed with that score in the past."
Of course, it is important that
they cover the score elsewhere.
You see, for Grade 3, the grading fluctuates significantly
depending on the "composition" section,
so the score for the "composition" is very important!
Elementary school students in particular are not used to writing
and are prone to making mistakes,
so I have them use the "Kamii-style magical passing composition form."
I don't know exactly where points are deducted.
(Because it's not public)
But looking at information from other teachers
and the composition scores of my own students,
I can see, 'Ah, this is how you get points deducted!'
I taught that, had them practice it,
and they used it on the test, so
it should be fine. As long as they didn't make any mistakes.
I told her mother, "So let's not give up hope yet and wait!"
And then, on the day of the results announcement...
It's always like this, but I can't settle down.
I'm feeling restless.
Eiken results are announced at different times for each grade.
Grade 3 results are announced at 3:00...
Just past 3:00,
I got a LINE message right away!
"Teacher! (rabbit looking surprised and sweating emoji)"
And there are five rabbits sweating profusely...
What? I have a bad feeling about this...
"Teacher! I passed! (sobbing emoji)"
Yaaaaaaay!
That's amaaaaaazing! ♡
You really betrayed meeeee!!!
In a good way!
And you got a high score on the essay, too!
It makes me want to cry.
For this Eiken test, just looking at the elementary school students,
everyone passed both Grade 3 and Grade 4!
Just for this time
a '100%' pass rate.
If we include the past,
it's an 'approximate 90% pass rate'.
Next time,
'The surprising Eiken pass rate of English conversation schools'
is coming up★
