Starting From Here

Sometimes the heart
is afraid even of its own shadow
Small misunderstandings
can sometimes cloud the world

However
deep within that cloudiness
a faint light flickers
the light within you
that seems like it might vanish but never does, is breathing

Even the water's surface that your outstretched hand could not reach

and gently leave

and much more certain

a heart a little softer than it was yesterday

will be illuminated by the morning light
and continue into the future

Anxiety is not an enemy
wavering is not weakness
all of these things

to head toward the light
