A Single Petal of Wind

A single petal is
entrusted to the wind,
a nameless feeling.

Untouched,
unspoken,
unreached,
a feeling that
quietly wept deep within the heart.

Yet,
the wind knows,
that things which seem to have vanished
flow
farther
and deeper.

The petal that could not be caught,
the petal that remained nameless,
the petal that fell into the shadow of a missed connection.

Within the wind,
they unravel,
overlap,
and eventually
fall into someone's heart.

When that heart
embraces the petal,
the wind
gains a new name.

Not as the past,
not as a continuation of someone else,
but as that person's own wind,
it flows
somewhere else once more.

The wind does not cease,
the petal returns,
and the feeling
will,
someday,
surely,touch someone.
