We humans think about things like this.
"What was I born for?"
For those searching for the answer to that question, there is a book I would like you to pick up at least once.
That is Mayuko Kageshita's "Soul Fortune-telling".
In our daily lives, we sometimes gradually forget our true selves while trying to meet the expectations of those around us or comparing ourselves to others.
It is believed that before we were born, we were in a world called "Absolute Peace."
It was a place without anxiety or fear, where everything was connected by love.
Each of us existed as a part of a large flower, in harmony with everything.
However, the soul did not choose to spend eternity there.
"I want to bloom my own flower."
With that wish in our hearts, we decided to be born on Earth ourselves.
To take on challenges.
To meet someone and have your heart moved.
To be moved by new scenery.
To shed tears.
To love.
To succeed.
To see the wide world.
To forgive.
Each and every one of them
becomes the "nourishment"
to help you bloom as the flower that is you.
It will serve as a "guidepost"
to help you remember the wishes and mission you held before you were born,
and to return to your true self.
There is a flower within you
that only you can make bloom.
And,
by that flower blooming,
this world
becomes a little kinder and more beautiful. 🌙✨️
A mission is not just about being useful to someone else.
We tend to think
that "being useful to others" or
"leaving behind great achievements"
is the meaning of life.
But is that really the case?
What was the "mission" in the life
of the author Mayuko Kageshita's grandfather,
who passed away at 97?
And why do people
want to find meaning in living?
I am writing this here because it became my motivation
for introducing "Soul Fortune-Telling".
The author's grandfather
was bedridden in his later years
and was being cared for at home.
"There's no meaning in me being alive. Why am I even living?" he would say,
He wasn't creating anything great for the world,
but even so,
was there a meaning to his life?
The answer
came after his grandfather passed away.
The author's aunt, who had cared for him for nine years,
said this while shedding tears
as she said goodbye.
"Grandpa, thank you. Thank you so much."
Seeing that, the author realized something.
From the outside,
it looked like "the aunt was supporting the grandfather,"
but it wasn't that simple.
In fact, the aunt's life
had been marked by the profound sorrow
of losing her two young daughters before her.
Carrying a sense of loss
too deep to imagine,
she had still continued
to care for her grandfather.
That is why the author thought:
It wasn't just that "the grandfather was supported by the aunt,"
but perhaps "the very existence of the grandfather
was the reason the aunt could keep looking forward and living."
"My grandfather relies on me."
"I am supporting my grandfather's life."
That feeling
for my aunt
became the "driving force to live for tomorrow."
It was.
In other words,
"the thread of my grandfather's mission and the thread of my aunt's mission"
were connected and supporting each other.
Even those who support others
are actually being supported by someone.
Life,
might be tied together
by such invisible threads of mission.
We are the same.
Even on days when you think
you haven't accomplished anything,
just by existing,
you may be
a support for someone's heart.
Therefore,
there is no need to rush to find the meaning of life.
The fact that you are alive today,
that you are smiling, that you are thinking of someone
all of that
is becoming an "important mission"
that supports someone's life.
"Mission is not just
about accomplishing something special"
"Living as yourself
while supporting others"
We are not living alone, but
are being kept alive while connected
by invisible threads of mission.
When I realized this,
I felt my heart suddenly become lighter.
What role is your soul
meant to fulfill
by being born
in this era, in this place? 🌙✨️
The answer to that
is within your own heart.
I hope this becomes an opportunity
to remember your soul's wishes
and face yourself.
