4. God's Murmur
Within me, the Earth is crying again today.
The seas tremble, the winds rage, and the flowers scatter.
The sky clouds over, and people lose their way.
Watching this, I wonder.
--Is this my fault?
The day I created you all,
I poured hope into you.
I dreamed of a beautiful world,
where you would laugh together and support one another.
But now,
there are more tears than smiles.
There are more screams than prayers.
I am God.
But I am not omnipotent.
I loved you all too much,
and now I have become unable to do anything.
The wind asks,
"Why don't you stop it?"
I cannot answer.
The flower asks,
"Why do you watch us wither?"
I cast my eyes downward.
The sky says,
"It is you who are crying, isn't it?"
Perhaps that is true.
The Earth is still spinning today.
While carrying your pain,
it still quietly brings the morning.
At that sight,
I simply bowed my head.
I am sorry.
I wish I could have been kinder.
I wish I could have protected you more strongly.
But even so,
you are all still alive.
You are still loving.
You are still thinking of someone.
Seeing that,
I pray just one more time.
"May this world,
be just a little bit kinder."
That is,
my murmur.
My atonement.
And my love.
