Those Who Achieve Their Dreams Are Those Who Did Not Give Up
There have been days where I have been active at home.
As someone with a collagen disease (primarily systemic lupus erythematosus), I rarely have days where I feel perfect. Having moved around while already not being in the best of health,
today marks the third day of feeling unwell.
That is precisely why I decided to write this diary entry here in today's note.
Those Who Achieve Their Dreams Are Those Who Did Not Give Up
"You are all here today because you did not give up."
There was a time when I would take the stage with an opening like that.
One could interpret it as simply saying the right thing in the right way,
and I think there were also people who felt that it was indeed true.
I believe that the way to achieve your dreams is to 'not give up.'
Even though it was only eight years ago that I was conveying that message,
I had carelessly started to give up on my own dream (hope).
I realized that this morning.
I will never feel healthy again
I realized that I was being controlled by the emotion of 'giving up' on that.
For the past three years, my bowel movements have not been good.
I had 'given up,' thinking it was due to the dryness inside and outside the body caused by Sjögren's syndrome, one of the symptoms of collagen disease, or perhaps symptoms of menopause due to my age.
There were also times when I thought that by giving up, I could make things easier for myself.
However, there was someone who faced my bowel movement issues even more than I did.
And so, my kind husband, Sebastian, makes an appearance again.
Even when I gave up and thought there was nothing I could do about my poor bowel movements,
he wouldn't give up—Sebastian, that is.
Two years ago, I also had an experience where I was saved thanks to Sebastian's refusal to give up.
The abnormality in my bowel movements this time was, above all, a lack of feeling refreshed.
Ascites and gas had built up, and my appetite had also decreased.
That situation had been continuing for some time.
Symptoms not quite severe enough to warrant a trip to the hospital.
This is the most troublesome kind. And it makes you want to press the 'give up' switch.
A time to look back on my bowel movements until now.
Having this kind of time as a married couple was a first-time experience for me in my fourth marriage.
When a worried Sebastian asked if I had experienced this in the past, I kept saying, 'I've never had an experience like this,' but one day, it suddenly came back to me.
Come to think of it, when I was pregnant and couldn't pass stool, I was introduced to herbal medicine!
That's what happened.
I felt that was it!! and when I looked it up on the internet, I was able to purchase it from the official website.
The herbal medicine arrived the next day, and after three days of taking it, I was able to feel refreshed.
I decided to continue taking it for a while, but after a month, my spirits sank again due to a deterioration in my physical condition for the first time in a while.
However, during this month, by using a steamer, I also succeeded in reducing the frozen foods I had relied on heavily whenever I wasn't feeling well, and although I can't eliminate the four poisons, I am living a dietary life that is much more careful than before.
In the midst of all that, a rather heavy bout of poor health arrived.
I realized that the date had changed on the note I had been writing every day, and as expected, it was interrupted.
It is easy to give up and say, 'Is this all there is?'
In anything you do, you might work on a solution, and while it goes well at first, it often reverts to its original state along the way.
But if you choose 'not to give up' here, your dream (the hope of wanting to feel better) will eventually come true.
Even if the form it takes isn't shiny and perfect, you will surely arrive at something you love.
I suddenly remembered this morning that I used to talk to women like this in the past.
Those whose dreams and hopes did not come true are those who gave up while on the way to achieving them.
I had intended to go through the rest of my life in a state of having given up.
Since becoming a wheelchair user, I felt good when people told me, 'It's amazing that you haven't given up,' or 'You look like you're having fun even in a wheelchair,' but deep down, I think that when I decided to 'embrace the wheelchair,' Ifelt like I had given up on something.
In truth, I want to be healthier and have more days where I feel well.
To affirm myself on days when I cannot get up, I want to honestly pursue 'feeling healthy,' which I had given up on, from now on.
I wasn't feeling well at all today and thought I wouldn't write a note, but
I was able to write it because I wanted to tell myself once more, 'It was the people who didn't give up who made their dreams come true!'
A diary-like note.
Thank you so much for reading until the end 💗
