"My father is coming with his whole clan. If you stay with me, you'll be eaten."
"I would rather die than break up with you. I will fight to the end."
The king, who had fallen in love with an ogre's daughter, faced the army of the daughter's ogre father. The human forces numbered six thousand. The ogres numbered twenty-five thousand.
"If we fire iron arrows, even the ogres won't return alive."
"Wait, that would wipe out her entire clan. Stop the arrows and use beans instead."
"My lord, that will only drive the ogres away, and they will attack again."
"It does not matter. We shall drive them away like that every year. We cannot treat each other's lives so carelessly."

The ogres, pelted with beans, flinched at the force of it.
"Darn it, don't flinch at such beans! Take my daughter back!"
"But our evil spirits are being driven away, and our power is steadily decreasing."
"We have reports that the beans being thrown are delicious! Everyone is picking them up instead of fighting!"
"Ugh." The ogre father shed tears as he saw his daughter throwing beans along with the humans.
"Do you love that man that much? Then stay together for all eternity. However, I will come to check on you every year."

Their feelings for each other continue to this day, and the father has become the one who plays the ogre.
