Reuse Store LOOP | A reuse shop that does more than just sell items
We are "Reuse Store LOOP," a small reuse shop in Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, that is only open on days ending in 3.
We want to be more than just a place to buy and sell used goods; we aim to be a "gateway for local circulation," connecting items that someone has cherished to someone else who needs them next.
In this era of mass consumption, we want to rediscover the value in old items, partially used goods, and things that may be a bit inconvenient but are still beloved.
And, beyond the framework of a "shop," we want to create a place where people can connect with each other naturally.
That is the form LOOP is aiming for.
In our shop, we collect items we "just happen to like" without being bound by genre, including Showa-era retro goods, tableware, toys, and daily necessities.
We also focus on activities that make reuse feel more accessible and fun, such as setting up stalls at local events and markets, and operating festival booths for children.
In this note, I hope to share not only about the shop, but also:
・What I feel at the reuse front lines ・Behind the scenes of local activities and events ・What it means to "let go of things" ・My obsession with retro items and old tools ・Thoughts I have while continuing to run a small shop
I hope to share these things in a relaxed way.
May we be able to deliver a little bit of interest or nostalgia to someone's daily life somewhere.
