Shkmeruli-style Stew Recipe No.0308
What is Shkmeruli?
Shkmeruli, or Chkmeruli, is a traditional Georgian dish consisting of chicken simmered in a garlic sauce. The main ingredients are chicken, garlic, and optionally milk.
The key to Shkmeruli is garlic and cheese.
Also, it seems that as it spread in Japan, it changed to use sweet potatoes instead of potatoes.
So, I made a Shkmeruli-style dish by adding a little twist to a white stew.

Ingredients
Stew mix: 1 box
Potatoes
Carrots
Onions
Milk
Chicken (I used chicken breast, but chicken thigh is also fine)
Up to this point, it is the same as usual.
As for additional ingredients:
Garlic: 2 cloves
Sweet potato: about 400g
Chinese cabbage: about 2-3 leaves (*broccoli is recommended)
Grated cheese: as needed
I added these to create the variation.
This time, I decided to use both potatoes and sweet potatoes, but using only sweet potatoes is also fine. Personally, I wanted to eat two types of potatoes, so I did it this way.

over low heat to bring out the aroma,

lightly season with salt and pepper
once it is about 70% cooked

skimming off any scum along the way

add the milk and simmer until it thickens, and it is done

The sweet potatoes melted into a mush. There is room for improvement here.
The sweetness of the sweet potatoes spread throughout, resulting in a Shkmeruli-style stew with a gentle flavor that also has a hint of garlic. You can adjust the saltiness by sprinkling on grated cheese to your liking.
It pairs well with bread, but I think it would also go quite well with rice if you make it saltier.
Regular white stew is delicious, but I also recommend this Shkmeruli-style version for a bit of a change.
Bonus↓

Time to actually eat the Shkmeruli-style stew.
As I thought, it goes very well with bread.
I also had it with some edible chrysanthemum ohitashi, which has become a staple for me.
