I can't live without the Star Filters I buy on Rakuten. This is the only range hood filter for our home.

Star Filters solved my dissatisfaction with non-woven fabric types

This time, I'm talking about range hood filters.

When we first moved in, I wasn't using these Star Filters, but rather a non-woven fabric type.
However, what bothered me was that the non-woven filters couldn't fully prevent oil stains.

The oily smoke that passed through the filter would get inside the range hood, and I struggled with the sticky grime on the sirocco fan.

When I was searching on Rakuten for a filter that could block dirt more effectively, I found these Star Filters made of non-combustible glass fiber.

Even with replacement every six months, the inside of the range hood stays clean

It seems that replacement is recommended about once every 1 to 2 months, but to be honest, I find it hard to change them that often.
In our home, we replace them at a pace of about once every six months.

Even so, every time I remove the Star Filter, I am surprised by how clean it is inside.

The filter itself is packed with six months' worth of oil and dust.
It's clear that it has caught a significant amount of dirt.

Despite that, the range hood unit behind the filter is hardly dirty at all.

Because the Star Filter catches the oily smoke so well, the dirt doesn't reach the inside.

That's why there is almost no sticky oil residue on the range hood unit itself.
Cleaning is finished in a flash.

Ever since I was impressed by this level of cleanliness, we have continued to use Star Filters in our home.

The sirocco fan is also almost completely clean.

Every time I replace the Star Filter, I remove the sirocco fan to check its condition.

When I take it off, there is no noticeable oil buildup on the fan.
It's so clean that I can't believe it's been six months, and I'm surprised every time.

Before I started using Star Filters, oil would get all the way onto the sirocco fan, and it was a struggle to remove the stickiness.

I really feel that just by changing the filter, the cleaning effort has been reduced this much.

The special three-layer glass fiber structure catches oil firmly.

Why is it so effective at preventing dirt?
It seems to be due to the difference in materials.

Star Filter is a special three-layer filter that uses non-combustible glass fiber.

When you hold it in your hand, it feels soft and fluffy, but it has a good thickness.

This thickness of about 1 cm is what effectively blocks the oil smoke.

It makes sense that it has about 1.5 times the oil smoke removal rate ({manufacturer research}) compared to conventional non-woven types.

Because it is made of non-combustible material, it is safe as it won't spread fire in an emergency.

Installation is easy. Just replace the filter.

The fact that it is easy to replace is also a nice point.
Just remove the old filter and snap the new one in.

Since it is covered in oil and dust, and is made of glass fiber, it is recommended to wear gloves when handling Star Filters.

Since compatible sizes vary depending on the kitchen manufacturer and model, be sure to check the size of your range hood before purchasing.

The one I purchase is the type that attaches with magnets.

The key to choosing the size is to pick a filter that is about 5 cm larger than the opening (suction port) of your range hood.
Even if you choose the wrong size, they offer exchange services.

Even if you are worried about choosing the right size, you can inquire at the shop and they will look it up for you, so you can rest easy.

Star Filter is a Rakuten favorite that I can't do without.

After using them for four years, I'm reminded once again that a single filter can make cleaning so much easier.

It is much easier to prevent dirt on the range hood before it happens than it is to clean it up.
It was these Star Filters that made me realize that.
