『夏の音』
夏の音は
長い雨のあとの
蝉の声から始まる
その声が
初めは控えめだったのが
やがて大合唱となり
朝の涼しいうちから
命の限り声を響かせている
それも日常の音にまぎれて
気にならなくなるほどになったら
本格的な夏の始まりだ
暑い夜を
何度も何度も越えて
同じ朝などないかのように
いつも一生懸命な
蝉の声
その先にはいったい
何があるのだろうか
いつしか気がづいたら
虫の音が
聞こえてきていた
『Sound of Summer』
The sound of summer
begins with cicadas
after a long rain.
At first, their voices
are faint, but soon
they become a great chorus,
singing their hearts out
from the cool hours of morning.
When their song blends into the sounds of daily life
and you no longer notice it, that's when summer has truly begun.
The cicadas sing with all their might,
as if each new morning were unlike the last,
having survived countless hot nights.
What lies ahead for them?
Then one day you realize
that the chirping of insects
has started.
