A World Seen with a Lifted Gaze

With my shoulders hunched up tight

and my back rounded, during this time of year

for someone like me whose gaze tends to drop,

I needed a spark of excitement to lift my eyes

The cold dulls my senses just a little

and gives me excuses for all sorts of things,

but when it comes to clothes,

I resist the urge to reach for pants

In truth, I cannot give up on the desire to wear a skirt.

The blue sky stretches out even in winter

The future is bright

From the appearance of that hopeful sky

It seemed as though the anxiety at my feet was fading away without me even noticing
