Sunset in a Frame
My classmate, Nakama-san, asked me to stay behind in the classroom after school.
Being called out after school usually means one thing, doesn't it?
"Sorry for calling you out so suddenly," she said, looking apologetic.
She took a camera out of her bag.
Then, a mirror with an elastic band.
"Okay, put this on."
She placed the elastic band over my head and adjusted it so the mirror sat on my forehead.
Then she made me stand facing the open window.
She pointed the camera at me and clicked the shutter.
"We're having a photo exhibition at our photography club soon, based on a theme."
Saying that, she showed me a printout.
Theme: 'Sunset in a Frame'.
Wait, this is...
The photo she showed me.
The sunset is reflected in the mirror on my forehead.
"Hey, doesn't 'frame' mean a picture frame, not a forehead?"
She hurriedly looked at the printout.
"Oh no, I'm so silly. I thought it was strange, but... I just assumed it meant forehead."
"It happens. I mean, I just assumed it was a confession... oh."
End
I participated in this project.
Thank you, Tarahakani-san.
