Moonlight and Pudding / [2:00 AM] Polar Bear Literature Club
2:00 AM. I wake up, look at the clock, and sigh.
I wish I could sleep soundly until morning.
I could just go back to sleep, but I was thirsty, so I decided to head to the kitchen for some water.
After drinking water in the kitchen, my eyes suddenly caught sight of the refrigerator.
Come to think of it, I hadn't turned on the lights since I got here.
The light of the full moon is streaming in through the open curtains.
I never realized a full moon was this bright.
I opened the refrigerator and took out a pudding.
Reading by the moon.
I think I could do that in this full moonlight.
I opened the pudding lid and took a bite with a spoon.
It's a beautiful moonlit night.
Click. The lights went on.
I looked over to see my older brother standing there, having turned on the light.
"What are you doing in the middle of the night?"
"I was thirsty."
My brother's gaze pointed at the pudding.
"I don't think that's something you eat when you're thirsty."
"This is..."
There's no way to hide it, and I feel like there's no need to, but since I'm always talking about being on a diet, I feel awkward.
"The moonlight was so bright, and the refrigerator beckoned me."
"If it weren't a full moon, you would have just turned on the light and headed for the fridge more clearly, right?"
As he said that, my brother sat in a chair and opened a canned coffee.
"I'll keep you company."
He said that and drank his coffee.
I'm glad my brother is my brother.
I have participated
in this project.
