Dreaming of Being an Astronaut / [Sausage Constellation Meteor Shower] Weekly Short-Short Note
"Dad, we can see the Sausage Constellation meteor shower today."
The moment I opened the front door after returning from work, my son jumped at me and said that.
"The Sausage Constellation meteor shower?"
I had never heard of it.
"I wonder if it's shaped like a sausage, or if it's delicious."
My son looked excited. I hadn't heard anything about a meteor shower happening today. I checked on my phone, but there was no information about a Sausage Constellation or a meteor shower.
My son was excited about something that wouldn't even happen. My wife was enjoying it with him without correcting him. I wonder if she thinks she can see the sausage meteor shower too.
I also looked up at the sky from the window.
"Oh, a shooting star. Could that be it?"
Just a single shooting star.
(That's just a regular shooting star.)
I started to say that, but stopped and chose different words.
"Maybe so. I'm glad we could see it."
I said that and patted him on the head.
"Yay!" my son cheered, and my wife took our satisfied son to the bedroom.
What kind of memory will this leave in my son's mind?
I participated in this project.
