The Confessor
My childhood friend Sari is a 'confessor-in-waiting' who wants to confess to the person she likes but just can't bring herself to do it.
"Hey, want me to teach you a good luck charm? It's called the 'Kobito Chestnut' charm.
You prepare a small plate and leave a chestnut on it.
If a little gnome takes it away, your feelings are supposed to reach the person you like."
After getting home, it seems Sari immediately tried out the charm.
I had planned to go over a little later and take the chestnut back without her noticing, but maybe there was a mouse or something, because the charm's chestnut was gone by the next day.
"Oh, but you shouldn't do this for your first love.
If it's your first love, instead of 'please convey my feelings,' it becomes 'I'll introduce a good person to the gnome,' so the gnome will end up stealing your crush away."
Risa turned pale.
"To keep them from being taken away, you have to confess before the gnome steals them."
Risa dashed out of the classroom.
With this, Risa will surely become a confessor.
The slightly disappointed sigh I heard near my ear must have just been my imagination.
