Events During Hospitalization
The other day, I participated in the 'Connecting to the Future' meeting hosted by facilitator Pontamama.
Everything everyone shared resonated with me, and it made me realize I wasn't alone.
I cannot share the specific content, but participating in these meetings helps me discover things about myself.
Events During Hospitalization
I had my onset in May 2022, and at that time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors were not allowed in the hospital.
It was written that phone calls should be made in a designated area, but since I couldn't go there by myself, I had to have someone take me.
Communication with my family was limited to LINE and email, so sometimes things didn't come across the way I wanted them to.
At such times, the medical staff were the ones who stood by me.
In particular, my rehabilitation therapist listened to me and thought things through with me.
On the morning I was transferred to the convalescent hospital, when I tried to get up from the bed, I suddenly felt dizzy and couldn't get up.
At that time, I was still moving around in a wheelchair, so they put me in one, and since my family had come to pick me up, we went to the convalescent hospital together.
I was fine while sitting, so I don't think my family was too worried, but when I lay down or tried to get up, the dizziness was severe, and my rehabilitation didn't progress very well.
I was prescribed motion sickness medication, but it didn't get any better.
At that time, my rehabilitation therapist looked into various things and told me that my symptoms resembled those caused by moving otoliths.
They taught me how to fix it, and when I tried it on one side, I felt a little better, and when I did the other side, the dizziness stopped completely.
I was truly grateful that the rehabilitation therapist at the convalescent hospital stood by me.
I have nothing but gratitude.🙏
One day during my hospitalization, in a LINE exchange with my family:
Family: Do you have enough underwear?
Me: Enough.
I wish they had at least asked, 'Do you have enough changes of clothes?'☺️
But thank you for doing the laundry.🙏
Thank you for reading until the end.😊
