Father's "X" (Ekkisu) | A Record of a Nordic-Japanese Family
When I was a child, my father would teach me my studies whenever he had time.
At that time, no matter what, no matter what,
the thing I couldn't help but notice was,

My father's pronunciation of "X" as "Ekkisu".
It's "Ex," why "Ekkisu"...?
Ekisu...?

I felt bad for my father who was trying so hard to teach me, but I was so distracted by him saying "Ekkisu this, Ekkisu that" that I couldn't focus on what he was saying.
My younger brother was also being taught his studies in the same way, but,

"Hey, what's X (Ekkisu)? It's really bothering me."
he said clearly to our father.
What a tactless guy.
And then time passed...
Currently, Mochi-father is teaching my eldest son his studies.

"Hey, Grandpa. What's X (Ekkisu)? It's really bothering me."
This one lacks consideration too.
A word that transcends time and space to bewilder people.
"X" (Ekkisu).
Eks and Exs, they are only one letter apart, so why does it bother me so much...
"By the way, Grandpa calls Timberland 'Chinberland.' Isn't that crazy?"
That is crazy.
