It's normal to not feel motivated!
Hello, this is Gatchan.
Is motivation something you 'create' rather than 'find'?
To get motivated,
it seems like it's best to just move a little bit at first.
Even if you decide to jog for 30 minutes in the morning,
you might not be able to get out of bed.
Even if you buy a textbook to study for a certification,
you might end up slacking off by the third day.
At times like that, you come up with plenty of excuses, but you just can't find the motivation...
You all have those moments, right?
Right?
I'm always like that.
However, it seems that's just how humans are,
built to feel a lot of resistance to changing their state.
That's why we keep putting things off even when we try to do something.
On top of that,
we convince ourselves that when things don't go well, it's not our fault,
but someone else's fault or the environment's fault,
and furthermore,
it's said that people are even born equipped with a talent for making excuses.
Well, it can't be helped!
That said,
nothing will start if you don't do anything, so
knowing that,
the key is how you can trick yourself!?
What's important is how to handle that initial movement first.
Decide on a trigger for when to take action
Keep your initial goal small, super small
For example,
If you decide to study for a certification exam,
Just sitting at your desk and opening the textbook is enough
If you manage to do it, give yourself a reward and praise yourself!
The first week is the hardest, so for that week,
It is okay even if you just sit at your desk without opening the textbook
That is also acceptable.
And,
strangely enough, taking action for the first few seconds—
even just opening the textbook —
seems to flip your "motivation switch" and makes it easier to take the next step.It is said.
Even with cleaning that you started reluctantly,
haven't you ever started vacuuming and then found yourself caring about the corners
and cleaning them up?
Even if you think,
I have no motivation, this is a pain,
well, that is just how humans are.
So, what should we do? With that in mind,
without thinking about what comes next, just mindlessly,
trying to move first
is what is important.
Even if things don't go well,
it is a built-in human function, so be easy on yourself and take it slow.
I am usually not one to stick with things,
but while tricking and pampering myself,
I am currently continuing the following in a relaxed way
Radio English Conversation
Since April. Do it as soon as I wake up in the morning. A rule that just listening a little is okayReducing alcohol
Since January. A rule not to drink at home. I used to be terrible, so I feel much better physicallyMini diet
Since March. Recording meals and weight. It is okay even if calories exceed the plan.
