🏛 Museum of Memories Exhibit No.001 Exhibit Title: That Sweet Scent Brought Back My Youth. Exhibitor: Hana-chan Exhibit Category🍩 Memories of Food🌇 Memories of After School👩‍🎓 Memories of Part-time Jobs

Thank you so much for once again bringing a wonderful exhibit to the Museum of Memories.
This exhibit is a memory of a 'first part-time job' sent in by Hana-chan.

'What was your first part-time job?'
In response to that question, Hana-chan shared a memory from when she was a second-year high school student.

Her first part-time job was at Mister Donut.
During breaks, she would have one donut of her choice and a juice.
Back in those days, if your school found out you had a part-time job, you would be suspended.
On days when they did mobile sales, she would wear fake glasses and tie up her hair to disguise herself just a little.
She said she worked with a pounding heart, trying not to be discovered by her teachers.
And at the end, she added this sentence:
'That sweet scent of donuts frying when I walked in through the back door... You've made me remember it now!😆🍩✨'
The moment I read that sentence, I thought to myself:
People don't remember events.
They remember scents.
And along with that scent, they remember who they were back then, and the people they laughed with.

The story continued.
Her favorite donut was the Angel Cream.
Back then, they were much bigger than they are now, and she said she would be full after eating just one.
But what really stayed in her heart wasn't the donuts.
It was the time spent laughing while chatting about silly things with the store manager.
Casual conversations.
Casual, everyday life.
It is that very casualness that still shines in her heart even decades later.
And at the end, a comment so typical of Hana-chan:
'Mr. Donut!!'
They're so small now!!📣😁'
I couldn't help but laugh.
But beneath that laughter,
'Those days were truly fun.'
I feel like that sentiment was packed into those words.

Memories are mysterious.
What I remember is not the donuts.

What I remember is the person I laughed with.
The sweet scent.
And who I was back then.
Perhaps people don't remember the food.
Perhaps they remember the time they spent laughing while gathered around that food.

The high school days spent working with a racing heart.
Just reading your comment made me feel as if I were standing in the kitchen of a Mister Donut myself.
I would be happy if we could continue to exhibit these casual, yet life-coloring memories together.😊🍀

One person's memory,
becomes writing,
becomes music,
becomes video,
and reaches someone else's heart.
This is exactly the scene I wanted to see at the 'Museum of Memories'.
Memories do not belong to just one person;
they evoke someone else's memories,
and create new stories.
