When your to-do list is overflowing, start a 'Work Meditation'! [A short note]
This past weekend, I had errands to run on Saturday morning, and by the afternoon, I was so exhausted from the week that I couldn't do anything.
In other words, I had to get through all the housework and to-do missions that had piled up during the week on Sunday.
And then, Sunday morning arrived.
I was in a situation where I wondered, 'Where should I even start? 😇', but in the end, I managed to complete a decent number of missions.
I'd like to share the concept of 'Work Meditation' that I kept in mind during this time.
When your to-do list is overflowing, don't you often find yourself in situations like the following?
・Getting distracted by other tasks while in the middle of one
・Feeling discouraged because you can't see the end, causing you to stop working
・Looking at your smartphone to escape reality
When that happens,remember 'Work Meditation'!
Meditation is generally imagined as something you do while sitting in a quiet environment, but in reality, you can do it 'anytime'.
I believe the essence of meditation is 'controlling your thoughts, clearing away distractions, and feeling (focusing on) the "now"'.that is.
In other words, if you can 'clear away distractions and think only about the task in front of you' even while moving your body, that is already a 'meditative state' and a 'mindful state'.
Before starting a task, or while in the middle of one, if distracting thoughts like 'this is a pain' pop up, immediately start 'Work Meditation'.
Direct your consciousness toward the task at hand and the objects in front of you.
It's a simple way of thinking, but once you actually start, you'll find that things often finish quite smoothly.
Please, give it a try. 🥳
