For the sixth graders approaching graduation, "Mission Accomplished" activities were in full swing.
Let's leave behind a good legacy for the school through our own actions. Let's graduate without giving up on our growth until the very end. This mindset shared by the grade-level teachers and the children powerfully supported the school's sense of security and growth during the first year of the pandemic.

During the closing meeting that day, she represented her group and called on the entire class to "tidy up the shoe lockers."
A common scheme for such initiatives involves the person in charge explaining the key points orally or with diagrams, conducting inspection activities from that perspective for a certain period, showing the results as evidence, encouraging awareness to improve, trying again, and reflecting.

However, her approach was a little different.

She connected her tablet to the large monitor in the classroom.
At this point, I could see the concentration of the students in the class heighten significantly.
When she tapped her tablet, a photo of the class's shoe lockers from that day appeared on the monitor.
The shoe locker in Photo A was a somewhat cluttered section.
"Oh, that's me!" one of the boys said, coming out with a loud, embarrassed voice. The classroom erupted in laughter.
Next was Photo B. It was a photo of his shoes, beautifully arranged.
"Whoa!" the whole class gasped. The boy from before wore a smug "How about that!" expression, only to be teased by his friends saying, "That's not right."
It goes without saying that his permission had been obtained in advance.

"What do you think?" she asked the group. Several hands went up quickly, and they began to voice the merits of B.
"It feels good."
"The feelings of the people who see it are different, too."
"If more people tidy up, it will become the norm, and the school will have one more treasure."

I could feel the entire class gently and proactively making their own resolutions.


"I don't just want to call out to them; I want to explain while showing photos."
"I think everyone will understand better that way."
I heard that you were the one who proposed this idea.
Hearing that made me happy, as it was an idea so characteristic of you—bright, cheerful, and able to treat everyone with a gentle smile.
Never compromising in the pursuit of the best. How can those words reach a person's heart in the deepest and gentlest way? When you put your heart into how you treat others—realizing that what you naturally cherish is not actually a given—you see how much warmth your thoughts can carry when they reach someone.
You, your group, and your class have left a treasure for the younger students that is even greater than beautiful shoe lockers.
