Hosting a Book Club! Chapter 2: "Money" and "Trust" as "Adult Developmental Stages"

We will be holding a book club for the second chapter of "Five Stories About Cherishing Yourself."

This chapter covers the theme of how to live in society, specifically regarding money and trust, but it starts with episodes that anyone can relate to.

Actually, the protagonist was originally a younger, handsome guy. I had just finished the preface and afterword and thought,
"Yay!"
but the very next day, I received an email from the editor-in-chief saying,
"Can we change the protagonist?"
It's also the chapter with the episode where I shouted,
"What?!"
on the train.

So, I hurriedly changed the protagonist, but now I deeply feel that it was for the best.

First, it became a process where the protagonist, as a son, could talk to his father from the same level rather than from an opposing position.
Actually, this is important!! It's a transition period in adult development theory.

And, as the complications regarding money were resolved, the protagonist was finally able to understand what is necessary besides "results."

Since it is based on actual, realistic family changes, it has become even more authentic.

That said, it is a very fun and lively chapter.
