What kind of people are LHH consultants!? Introducing our high-performing managers in the consumer goods, food service, retail, and logistics sectors!
Hello. I am Shimizu, Department Manager of the Consumer & Retail Introduction Department!
We are a recruitment team that supports the sectors closest to people's daily lives: consumer goods, retail, food service, and logistics.
Our job is to connect the companies that support our daily "normal" with the talent that will carry their future.
This time, we will focus on the managers leading the three teams in this sector and introduce their respective roles and values.
1. "Consumer Goods" Sector (Consumer & Food Division)
Manager: Banri Hiromoto

<Self-Introduction>
Born in Toyama Prefecture. After graduating from Nagoya University, I joined a Japanese apparel manufacturer in 2012. As a supervisor for a women's clothing brand targeting department stores, I oversaw about 100 store managers and sales staff across 50 stores.
Since 2019, I have been working as a mid-career recruitment consultant at Adecco LHH Recruitment Solutions. From 2026, I have also been serving as a member of the LHH Japan / AI Project.
I obtained my national Career Consultant certification in 2023 and my GCS Coach certification in 2024.
Currently, I am striving to obtain the ACC (Associate Certified Coach) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In parallel, I am also studying NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), a form of psychology. In my private life, I am a father of two (aged 3 and 6), struggling through my days.

Honestly, I am fully occupied with work and childcare, so I don't have much time for myself. I used to travel alone to countries like India, Cambodia, China, and New Zealand, so once my children are a little older, I would like to visit those countries with them.
*The photo is of the building that is the origin of my name.

For relaxation, it has been my habit for the past two years to watch and listen to Fujii Kaze's "Tiny Desk Concerts JAPAN" every weekend to reset myself. Recently, I also watch "Coachella." Perhaps I am unconsciously incorporating high-quality, easily accessible non-daily experiences into my busy daily life as a way to maintain balance.
<Division Scope>
We cover the "Consumer" business broadly. We operate by dividing the division into two teams.
Team 1: Brand Marketing × Major Companies × Consumer Goods, Cosmetics, Food, Beverages, Confectionery, OTC, Food Service
Team 2: Sales/SCM × Food, Beverages, Home Meal Replacement, Trading Companies, Food Service, Wellness
It is an interesting team where we talk about the latest marketing cases for each team, do case studies on how to sell virtual beverage brands, go to see supermarket shelf layouts, and taste nursing care food.
<Reason for coming to LHH / Why did you get involved in recruitment?>
I don't know. Why is that?
Honestly, there are more moments where I feel my own immaturity than moments of fulfillment.
Sometimes we meet job seekers and business leaders who have more career experience than we do, and we are asked to listen to various information related to their work and provide advice.
Also, when supporting a job change, no matter how carefully we check in advance, unexpected things can overlap, and unfortunately, it can lead to a mismatch after joining the company.
I spend every day accepting reality, including all of that, and improving and correcting the services I provide to a level that satisfies the customer.
The fact that I am still continuing in recruitment means I must be interested in people. Probably.
<Message to Job Seekers>
Whether it is for job seekers or the management of my own division, I value "proactive decision-making." If you are interested in such services or want to provide them, please let me talk to you.
2. "Food Service & Retail" Sector (Dining & Retail Division)
Manager: Ryo Hoshi

<Self-Introduction>
Born in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. Joined a temporary staffing agency as a new graduate.
After experiencing roles as a coordinator, sales representative, and branch manager, I joined LHH Recruitment Agent (Adecco Co., Ltd.) mid-career, aiming for further skill improvement.

<Hobbies/Interests>
My hobbies are saunas and going to Disney. I value the time I spend organizing my thoughts while refreshing in the sauna.
I often go to Disney just to have fun, and it has become an important time for me to step away from my daily routine and refresh.

<Department Scope>
The Dining & Retail division I manage supports the entire value chain, including the following areas:
・Food Service (restaurants, cafes, chain headquarters, etc.)
・Retail (GMS, home centers, specialty stores, etc.)
・Food manufacturers/production areas
In terms of job functions, we specialize in middle-to-high-class talent close to management, such as:
・SV, Area Managers
・Store Development
・Marketing
・SCM, Purchasing
・MD, Buyers
・Production Management, Production Engineering, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Factory Managers
Our value lies in our ability to provide proposals based on 'industry structural understanding × management perspective,' rather than just focusing on specific job titles.
<Why I joined LHH / Why I got involved in recruitment>
In my previous job, I was involved in short- and medium-term temporary staffing, but I chose the path of recruitment because I wanted to work in a role where I could be deeply involved in people's decision-making processes.
Changing jobs is one of the biggest decisions in life. In that situation, I feel the essential value lies in not just introducing job openings, but in helping candidates articulate their values, organize their position in the market, and think through the optimal options together.
I chose LHH because it allows me to 'not only support individuals but also step into corporate management issues.' LHH is not just an agency, but an organization that thinks about 'talent × business growth' from a consulting perspective.
<Message to job seekers>
I am still learning every day, but because of that, I want to cherish every single connection I make.
If you are interested, I would be happy to talk with you!
③ 'Logistics & SCM' Sector (Logistics & Supply Chain Division)
Manager: Takahiro Uehara

<Self-Introduction>
Raised surrounded by the sea and mountains of Shizuoka, I went from being a soccer boy to getting hooked on high school rugby, where I became a regular despite having no experience. Wanting to 'achieve something,' I studied abroad in the U.S. with zero English skills. After that, I experienced overseas and manufacturer assignments in the logistics industry, and I am now involved in recruitment at LHH.

<Hobbies/Interests>
I love running and aim for 150km a month, running through unfamiliar streets early in the morning. My first full marathon, which I entered on a whim, was honestly hell, but before I knew it, running became a part of my life. The theory that I run for the beer and junk food after finishing is quite strong.

<Department Scope>
I am in charge of the logistics and supply chain sector across various industries. The reason society keeps running even when the global situation is unstable is because of the companies and professionals active in this field.
We are working as a team to become the one-and-only partner for companies and job seekers, creating the next stage together.
<Why I joined LHH / Why I got involved in recruitment>
When I achieved my dream of working overseas, I saw the members I hired grow and become relied upon by those around them, and I realized that 'people are the greatest asset.' I joined LHH because I wanted to use my experience in logistics and SCM to do work that creates value for both people and companies.
<Message to job seekers>
There are still many interesting stories and possibilities in this field. Whether it's about hiring, your career, or the future of the industry, I would be happy to talk with you, even if it's just for a casual exchange of information.
Summary
This time, we introduced three managers who lead our departments.
From the next installment onwards, we will be sharing information related to the industry, how to build a career, and the reality of job change support.
We hope this will provide some hints for those interested in this field or those worried about their careers.
