Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel Tancha Bay Stay Report with Kids

Up until the last post, I wrote about our overall trip to Okinawa with kids and our snorkeling experience at the Blue Cave, but this time I would like to summarize our stay at the "Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel Tancha Bay" ☺️

Reasons for choosing Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel Tancha Bay 🏨

We stayed at the Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel Tancha Bay this time. When choosing a hotel, we prioritized:

・A location where we could enjoy ourselves just by staying around the hotel

・A wide range of marine activities
・A place that is easy to stay at with children
Among these, Rizzan Sea-Park Hotel Tancha Bay was the deciding factor because it was relatively reasonably priced compared to surrounding resort hotels, and it seemed like we could enjoy various activities within the hotel and on the beach in front of the hotel.

Top 5 "Best Points" I felt after actually staying there

1st Place | Abundant hotel activities!

This was definitely the best part! You can enjoy marine activities on the beach in front of the hotel, and inside the hotel, you can experience Shisa painting and craft making using seashells and sea glass.

At night, Eisa and Ryukyu dance shows were also held!

Being able to have various experiences without having to travel around was a real help during a trip with limited time. Our family experienced banana boating and tubing on the beach, and Shisa painting inside the hotel at night.

It was also great that advance reservations were not required, so we could decide based on how the children were feeling and the weather at the time! We hadn't originally planned on Shisa painting, but after the kids saw the samples and said, "The colorful Shisas are cute! We want to try it!", we decided to do it on the spot that night ☺️

Also, for the marine activities, the staff explained the details when we signed up, so we were able to choose the ones the children were interested in.

For the banana boat and tubing, the staff checked the speed and adjusted it each time, so even small children could enjoy it with peace of mind! (They mentioned that for activities with large groups, you might share the ride with other groups, but even then, they would adjust it for small children.)

Also, it was easy to go back and forth between the beach and the pool, so it was great to be able to spend time in ways like 'playing in the pool until activity time'.

The indoor pool was heated and comfortable, and there was a shallow area for children and a simple slide. There were also paid rentals for rowboats and swim rings, which we enjoyed!
Towels were also available for free, which I was very grateful for.

2nd Place | The beach is right in front of the hotel!

Since the beach is right in front of the hotel, it was very convenient to be able to go to the sea even for a short gap of time.
Even if there were days with unstable weather, we could enjoy experiences and shopping inside the hotel while it rained, and go to the sea as soon as it cleared up!

On the morning of our last day, we thought, 'We want to play in the sea at least a little bit!', and although it was a short time before checkout, we were able to enjoy the sea to the fullest until the end.

Also, there were swings and benches, and it was a happy point that we could quickly take photogenic pictures before leaving the hotel ☺️

3rd Place | Shopping inside the hotel, such as souvenir shops, is convenient

The souvenir shop inside the hotel was quite large, and it had a full range of Okinawan sweets, miscellaneous goods, and souvenirs.
There were several shops, and some handled Okinawan T-shirts and dresses.

There were many things that the children were happy with, and they were very indecisive about choosing souvenirs 🤭

4th Place | Wide variety of breakfast options

The breakfast buffet wasn't exactly 'super luxurious,' but the variety was very rich!
There were Okinawan-style menus, and there were many daily specials, so we were able to enjoy it for 3 nights without getting bored.
There was also a menu for children, and they seemed to have fun choosing for themselves.

The venue was also very spacious and relaxed, and it had a sense of openness with a view of the beautiful sea.⸻

5th Place | A location where you can enjoy yourself enough just around the hotel

Places we went to,
・Blue Cave snorkeling
・Onna no Eki Nakayukui Market・Bios Hill・Ryukyu Glass Experience Workshopin addition to these,・Ryukyu Mura・CAVE OKINAWA・Yachimun no Sato・Manzamowere all within a 20-minute drive from the hotel!There are also many restaurants in the area.

There are many restaurants in the surrounding area, and being able to have various experiences with little travel time was a great help for traveling with children.⸻

Other services I was grateful for, etc.

The consecutive stay benefits and the mineral water service were also points I was quietly happy about.

This time, we had a benefit of one free sweets buffet for a 3-night stay, but we ended up enjoying the sea and pool more than we thought, so we didn't have time to go... 😳

However, we were able to change it to a dinner buffet by paying the difference, so that was very helpful!

Also, it was convenient to be able to change breakfast tickets to lunch, and I thought it was a service I was grateful for when traveling with children who 'can't wake up easily in the morning!' 😊

I was also happy that we could get mineral water for the number of people every day, and that we could get a 1000 yen hotel voucher if we didn't need cleaning.
Furthermore, since we booked through Rakuten Travel this time, being able to use the Rakuten Lounge was also a good point.
It was comfortable to be able to take a break while drinking coffee or juice after returning from the sea or pool ☺️There was also a small kids' corner for preschoolers and babies.

Points of concern from a parent's perspective

On the other hand, there were some things about the room that concerned me.

We stayed in a standard room.

The room itself felt like a "typical hotel room," but since it was a shoes-on style, I thought it would have been easier if it were a type where we could take our shoes off, especially with children!

Also, because it had a unit bath, I found the bathroom and vanity area a bit difficult to use.

Although the building and rooms felt a bit dated in some parts, they were kept clean, so it didn't bother us that much.

・Those who want to fully enjoy the sea and pool
・Those who want to enjoy marine activities and experiences
・Those who want to enjoy an Okinawa resort relatively reasonably

What I felt after actually staying there is that it is a "hotel where you can have high satisfaction without packing too much sightseeing into your schedule."

Just by playing on the beach and in the pool in front of the hotel, or enjoying the activities inside the hotel, we were able to spend a very Okinawan-style time.

Especially with small children, it is much easier when there is less travel, so being able to say "Let's just spend a relaxing day around the hotel today" was really great ☺️

For our family, it was the perfect hotel for an "experience-oriented Okinawa trip" 🌺
