I’m officially jobless now.:EV01
I quit the company I’d been working at for about nineteen years at the end of August 2025.
The main reason was that the workload and pressure on me had become too heavy. I realized that if I didn’t quit now, I’d probably just keep dragging myself along, and I really wanted to break out of that cycle.
Ever since an argument I had with my boss two years ago, things had been off. After that, I got transferred to what felt like a demoted position.
I never badmouth anyone, but people around me probably sensed something was wrong. When they asked, “What happened?” I’d just dodge the question. Even so, my workload somehow kept increasing.
Maybe they didn’t like seeing me mumbling to myself, looking like I had nothing to do.
But that’s just how I think. When I’m seriously trying to work through something, I need to say it out loud, hear it, and feed it back into my brain to make sense of it. When I’m mumbling, that’s actually when I’m working the hardest.
Since I’m that easy to read, whenever I stop mumbling, people assume I’m free—and they throw more work my way.
I guess I’m just that kind of person.
Simple enough to understand. Maybe too simple.
