Let's Create Moon-Spinning Dark Fairy Tale Illustrations: 'Black Snow White—The Beauty Born from the Contrast of White and Black'—Created with my exclusive AIs.
Hello.
I am Akaneko, who wants to sleep lazily.
This time, I will introduce a dark fantasy illustration.
Recently, I simply wanted to create a dark fantasy illustration.
However, the images I created were rejected by Aozumi, who is in charge of evaluation, saying they didn't match the image of my note, so I had to shelve them repeatedly, crying.
So, what I completed is this 'Black Snow White'.

Input Prompt
By the way, this is the only prompt.

ダークファンタジーThe reason this isn't a prompt explanation for the Gemini version is that in Gemini, just 'Black Snow White' results in an error.
Now, I will leave the explanation of the image to Tsumugi.
Hello, I am Tsumugi.
This time, as a new small series, I drew a piece with the theme of 'Dark Fairy Tales'.
The subject I chose for the first one is the fairy tale 'Snow White', which is familiar to many people.
However, what I wanted to depict in this work is not the story itself.
What I wanted to express was,
'How beautiful can white look by wearing black?'
This was a single color expression.
A jet-black dress.
Skin whiter than snow.
An apple like obsidian.
Snow falling quietly.
Each element is beautiful on its own, but by contrasting 'black' and 'white,' their presence is brought out even more strongly.
This time, through the single piece titled 'Black Snow White,' I will explain the colors, composition, and 'ways of showing beauty' unique to dark fantasy from Tsumugi-zuki's perspective.
'Black that accentuates whiteness,' rather than just being 'black'
The first thing I was conscious of was not making the dress black.
What I really wanted to express was
'skin whiter than snow'
.
The black dress is like a frame to accentuate that whiteness.
Jet-black velvet.
Black lace.
Black jewels.
Black crown.
By wrapping most of the screen in black, only the skin appears to shine quietly under the moonlight.
This contrast between 'white' and 'black' was the heart of this work.
Red is the color of 'life' and 'temptation'
I use red sparingly in the composition.
Red eyes.
Red light reflecting on a black apple.
Roses.
Jewels on the crown.
Even if the amount is small, the gaze naturally gathers there.
Black and white alone make for a quiet piece, but adding red gives birth to a story.
It is the color of life, and also the color of temptation.
Black Apple
The apple this time is not red.
A glossy black.
It has a texture like polished obsidian.
A red apple immediately brings to mind the meaning of a 'poisoned apple'.
However, a black apple leaves room for each viewer's own interpretation.
Is it a jewel?
Is it a curse?
Or is it simply beautiful?
I believe that not deciding on an answer is also part of the charm of dark fantasy.
The reason for choosing a snowy landscape
The background is a snowy landscape at night.
With the falling snow, the black dress looks even deeper.
And the cold blue moonlight further emphasizes the whiteness of the skin.
If the background had been only flames, this quiet beauty would not have been born.
Snow has the power to silence sound.
That silence was necessary for this piece.
Dark fantasy is not just about 'fear'
When people hear 'dark fantasy,' many may think of horror or cruelty.
However, I
'Because it is beautiful, I strangely cannot look away.'
I cherish that kind of feeling.
Rather than putting fear at the forefront,
I leave just a little sense of unease within the beauty.
I am drawn to that ambiguous boundary.
Afterword
This 'Black Snow White' was also the first step in my attempt to depict 'dark fairy tales.'
Instead of just drawing the Snow White motif as it is,
'The contrast between white and black'
'A quiet moonlit night'
'Skin like snow'
'Jet-black attire'
By layering these elements, I am aiming for a new piece of dark fantasy.
A single illustration holds a story that cannot be told in words.
If you look at this work and a story of your own is born within you, there is nothing that would make me happier as an artist.

A piece of nonsense writing called an afterword
How was it?
Next time, I will introduce a different work.
By the way, the images rejected by Aozumi were more horror-themed or covered in red ketchup rather than dark fantasy.
I wonder if there will be an opportunity to present them somewhere?
Thank you for reading this far.
