Today is 'A Day to Let Writing Age.' | A bit short...?
This is Nekogurashi, who was talking about ⇩aged meat⇩ sometime ago.
The key to aged meat is 'letting it rest well'.
Dry aging is storing meat in a controlled, low-temperature, breezy environment.
When moisture is removed just right, enzymes produced by microorganisms bind with proteins.
As a result, the concentration of minerals and peptides, which are the building blocks of umami, is condensed 5 to 6 times, and the muscle fibers also soften and loosen.
In other words, it becomes a state of 'releasing rigor mortis'.
So, the theme this time starts from here.
...
I think this might also apply to writing and articles.
Articles written with great enthusiasm, especially essays, develop a unique stiffness.
That makes sense, too.
Because you are pushing out information in order without systematizing it in your head, it ends up being quite dense.
Whether it's extra information or expressions that have transformed from the nuance you originally wanted to convey.
Great passion often tends to make the meat of an article tough.Well-done.
I am especially like that.
The more I obsess over my writing, the more embarrassed I feel when I read it later.
It's a bad habit of mine, but I edit my writing 5 or 6 times right after publishing it. lol
After Nekogurashi posts a new article, try pressing the refresh button a lot. Actually, tiny changes are happening, just like in a Saizeriya spot-the-difference game. lol
Such editing should ideally be done in a personal environment, but because it can be corrected in real-time, the medium of note is terrifying.
If it's an essay or a diary, this might be fine.
However, if I am to call myself a web writer or ghostwriter in the future, this becomes a 'gap' for lost opportunities.
...
That is precisely why you should let your writing rest well. Let it age.
Then, make small adjustments. Fine-tune it.
▶Relatively superficial layer corrections (the surface of the meat)
・Typos and omissions in the text
・Inconsistencies between subjects and predicates
・Twisted sentences
・Misuse of expressions (e.g., 'yakusha busoku' vs 'yaku busoku')
▶Mid-level layer (the toughness of the meat)
・Excess or deficiency of expressions when looking at the whole
・Unnecessary topics that stray from the main point
・Time spent on tangents (like getting too deep into an 'analogy')
・Confusion between the writer's perspective and the reader's perspective
▶Deep-level layer (the umami of the meat)
・Is a consistent theme maintained?
・Is the language used itself consistent with the self?
・What is the ideal way for the reader to feel (e.g., emotional, useful, etc.)?
The surface of meat while aging develops not only dark spots but even fuzzy mold. Honestly, in this state, it doesn't look very appetizing.
First, you remove those thoroughly to improve the appearance.
Then, finish it off with the appropriate cooking method.
Salt, pepper, olive oil.
Seasonings are 'words'. What kind of words will you add?
To appeal to the heart, sometimes spices or chili peppers are also necessary.
But if you add too much, the original'umami'will be lost.
If you don't condense the meaning firmly into the core part you want to convey,
what you want to 'convey' will 'not be conveyed'.
I think it's good to check for yourself over and over again whether the umami is coming through properly.
・Is it deviating from what I originally wanted to convey?
・Has my perspective narrowed without me realizing it?
・Was the goal to 'attack'?
For that reason, first, try letting it rest.
And,the first person to do the tasting must be yourself,.
...
⇧Wonderful note article⇧
If you can write an article that makes you want to write a review yourself,
in a sense, it might be the birth of aperpetual motion machine.
I've been writing various articles lately.
There are still many rough spots, but I want to believe that the quality is good enough that I'd want to give it lots of 'likes' myself. It's proof of my effort.Don't call me a narcissist for that!
When you read articles by people who are seriously engaged in web writing, you can feel, along with the emotion, how much they eliminate sloppiness.
Writing that expresses enthusiasm is not just a collection of techniques.
They are'counselors of words'who face their writing and even carefully consider the reader's state of mind.
That's really true. The destination of marketing is consumer psychology.
How to align that psychology with one's own writing style.
I feel the spirit of top-tier writers who seem to be staking their lives on that.
So, since I am in the middle of letting various'articles' rest, this was a shorter article.
...Hmm?
...Shorter?
Yeah, for Neko-gurashi, this is short, you know? Even this.

I want to be able to try harder at dieting my writing...
And with that personal complaint out of the way, that's all for today.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow as well, along with a good note for the three-day weekend!
Well then 🐈
